Vegan chickpeas patties (recipe) šŸ‘©ā€šŸ³šŸŒ±

I still can't make tasty falafels so here I am making an alternative for them with similar taste šŸ˜

It is crazy how many things we can make from chickpeas. Here I am sharing one option which can still be used in different ways - I eat these as plain patties with veggies and potatoes on the side, I put them on salad and next time I am planning to make a burger with them as they seem a great fit for that šŸ”

Note: You would need a blender/food processor for this recipe. I used hand blender and it does a great job.

You will need (for 11 small patties):

ā—¾ 1 can of chickpeas (240 g.) (or boiled ones)
ā—¾ Half an onion
ā—¾ 3 cloves of garlic
ā—¾ 60 g. tofu
ā—¾ 50 g. wheat flour
ā—¾ 2 tablespoons of nutritional yeast
ā—¾ 0.5 teaspoon of cumin
ā—¾ 1 teaspoon of seasoning mixture of your choice (I used seasoning blend for chicken (bought in a store), but plain salt is also enough)
ā—¾ 1 teaspoon of sweet pepper powder
ā—¾ Some fresh parsley
ā—¾ A pinch of pepper
ā—¾ Breadcrumbs
ā—¾ Oil for cooking

Preparation:

  1. Chop the onion and garlic cloves. Put all the ingredients in a bowl, except for the breadcrumbs and oil, and blend with a hand or other blender/food processor until more or less smooth mixture.

  2. Heat the pan with oil (the oil should cover the entire pan). To form the patties - form about 1 tablespoon of the mixture into a ball and press into a patty shape (about 1-1.5 cm thick).

  3. Roll both sides of each patty in breadcrumbs and place in a preheated pan with oil. Cook both sides of the patties until brown on a low/medium heat.
