Spooky Mini Pizzas for Halloween and Beyond šŸ•·ļø

As Halloween approaches, one delightful way to get into the spirit is by indulging in themed treats. These Mini Pizzas are adorned with mushroom skulls and olive spiders, making them a fantastic addition to your Halloween party.

But what's even better is that these creepy-cute creations aren't just limited to Halloween; they're ideal for kids and adults alike. You can customize them to suit your taste preferences. Plus, they're a great way to introduce a little more creativity to your cooking, making them a fantastic choice for a family cooking project or a memorable office potluck.

Yes, it takes some time to make them but it's all worth it! Your friends or colleagues would certainly appreciate these Mini Pizzas if you decide to make them as small treats for others.

You can choose whatever vegan cheese is available to you and if you don't have that option, you can definitely leave the cheese behind and simply add more ketchup on the pizzas or some other sauce.

Although these treats suppose to be spooky and scary, Halloween foods are 100% the cutest of all for me. And I always feel so sorry to eat them, they are way too cute! šŸ˜

So this recipe is perfect for you whether you plan a Halloween party, want to have a fun cooking time with your family/friends or simply want to enjoy some "me time" and make these beauties for yourself. They fit everyone needs!

You will need:
For 12 mini pizzas

For the dough:

ā— 300 g. wheat flour
ā— 170 ml. warm water
ā— 1,5 teaspoon of sugar
ā— 0.5 teaspoon of dried oregano
ā— 0.5 teaspoon of dried basil
ā— 1 teaspoon of salt
ā— 7 g. dry yeast
ā— 2 tablespoons of oil (olive, sunflower or rapeseed)

For the toppings:

ā— 12 teaspoons of tomato sauce (ketchup)
ā— Some vegan cheese of your choice (approx. 50-70 g. or depending on your preferences)
ā— About 18 black olives
ā— 6-7 small mushrooms

(I thought of using red pepper but I decided not to - that's why it's in the picture but not used - sorry for confusion!)

Preparation

  1. Mix the sugar, yeast and salt well with warm water and leave to stand for 10 minutes.
  2. Mix the flour with the oregano and basil.

Then add the water with the yeast to the flour (only after it has stood for ~10 minutes) and the oil. Stir and when the mixture starts to stick, knead it with your hands until it is smooth. Form the dough into a ball, leave it in the bowl and cover the bowl. Leave to rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  3. Grate the chosen vegan cheese. How much cheese you will need is very individual, but you can aim for about 50-70 g.
  4. If the mushrooms are very small, cutting them in half is sufficient. If they are larger, they can be cut into three parts, leaving the middle part for other recipes. Then pierce their "eyes" with a straw or other suitable object. The straw used in the recipe is a plastic straw and the sushi stick is used to clean it to prevent it from clogging.
  5. Cut the six olives in half lengthways. The other olives are also cut in half lengthways, but then chopped into 3-4 oblong pieces to make the spiders' legs.
  6. Divide the risen dough into 12 equal parts. Shape each ball of dough into small patties, rolling them out on some flour to the desired size to accommodate the ingredients.

7.Put the pizzas on a tray on baking sheet. Spread 1 teaspoon of tomato sauce on each pizza (more if desired) and add a little cheese.

8.Place a mushroom-skull on each pizza and form a spider with the olives.
  7. Bake them in a preheated oven at 200 degrees C for about 12 to 15 minutes. The cheese may cause the spiders to curl a little, so they can be adjusted and the olives can be pushed into place right after baking.

Enjoy!
