Potato mushrooms are processed potatoes mixed with several other ingredients. Then shaped like mushrooms and enjoyed with a delicious mixture of sauces.
Some of you will think this is a replica of a mushroom, even though it doesn't look that much but at first glance it does look a bit like that lol. I always want to make unique dishes, which makes you never get bored to always try my recipes. Inspired by some of my friends' social media, they often repost dishes that resemble this dish when eating at modern cafes. Therefore, I wanted to try making this dish using vegan ingredients, especially potatoes. The combination of this very thick sweet and spicy sauce makes the taste of this dish different from usual.
Even though this dish doesn't completely resemble real mushrooms, but a sense of happiness came when my nephew said it was similar. Those words comforted me enough, it made me tired of being in the kitchen around the corner when I saw them love this dish.
Ingredient
5 spoons of tapioca flour
100 grams of wheat flour
1 teaspoon of salt
Celery leaves to taste
Sauce Ingredients
1 red onion
3 cloves of garlic
1 teaspoon mushroom stock
1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce
1 spoon soy sauce
Pepper powder to taste (optional)
Cooking Steps
Steps Making mushroom Dough
Step 1
First I prepare the potatoes first, peel all the potatoes then I cut them and wash them. After washing the potatoes, boil the potatoes with enough water, boil until the potatoes are cooked or until they soften.Step 2
Then after the potatoes have been boiled, drain, then mash the potatoes until they are really smooth so that the texture of the dough is good.Step 3
Then add salt and mushroom broth, then flour. Then stir until smooth, if you feel the dough is hard you can add a little water.Step 4
Now then form the dough in the form of a circle then combine it on the hat of the mushroom that will be made. So here I want to make it shaped like a button mushroom which is tiny and short.Step 5
After the dough is finished forming, then boil the dough in boiling water, boil for about 15 minutes or until all the mushrooms float.Step 6
Now, after it's cooked, remove it and drain it on a wide plate so the mushrooms don't stick.Steps Making Sauce
Step 1
The first step I started chopping all the ingredients, then sautéing the shallots and garlic in a little hot oil. Then enter the red chili that has been cut according to taste.Step 2
Then, add the spices in the form of sweet soy sauce and soy sauce, and also add a little water.Step 3
Then add a little with ground pepper then mushroom broth, add 1 teaspoon of salt and stir.Step 4
Then if the sauce has shrunk or thickened, add the mushrooms that have been left to cool earlier.Step 5
Add celery leaves, stir and cook for a while until the spices are perfectly absorbed. Now the dish is ready to be enjoyed.Results
Yeay potato mushroom with sweet spicy sauce is ready to be served, serve it while it's warm for your dinner, it will definitely be very tempting. Besides being unique, this dish is also really liked by my nephew because it has a shape similar to mushrooms and also has a taste that is almost the same as meatballs, which is a typical Indonesian food.
