Village type pumpkin curry with grated coconut

I have seen a variety of foods made from pumpkin in this vegan community. Actually, we can prepare and eat pumpkin in various ways. So I thought of sharing with you a pumpkin recipe that is cooked in the village style in Sri Lanka. These days, the prices of pumpkins here are a little low. We bought this pumpkin from the market. So these days, because the price of these is low, the attention of vegetable growers has increased for this.


There are different varieties of pumpkins. They vary in shape, size and color. Also, pumpkin is a type of vegetable that contains very good nutrients. Doctors often tell us that we should eat yellow vegetables and fruits every day. Yellow vegetables and fruits are very beneficial for the body. So pumpkin is a vegetable with high nutritional value.

It contains antioxidants, vitamin C, A etc. It is also a vegetable rich in fiber .Because pumpkin produces less calories in our body, it is very good for people who are trying to lose weight.


The yellow color in pumpkins is due to beta-carotene, which produces vitamin A. Vitamin A is a very beneficial nutrient for the survival of the retina in the human eye.

Pumpkin can be prepared and eaten in various ways. There are different types of recipes that are special from country to country.


So now I am going to tell you how to prepare pumpkin in our country.

grated coconut30g

Method

First cut in to pieces like this .wash and put it separate clay pot.

Then add green chilies , onions ,curry leaves .

Next add to that chili powder , turmeric powder , curry powder and salt powder .

Now let's see how to prepare the coconut paste needed to flavor the pumpkin curry

We need for that these black pepper seeds , garlic cloves , chili pepper . First grind these ingredients well. After add grated coconut . Aging grind these all well.

Now add that paste to the pumking and mix it well.

Now add some water .

Oky. Now its ready to cook. Now close the lid and keep it low flame about 15 minutes .after 15 minutes add coconut milk to it . After few minutes you can see a delicious villages type pumking curry .



I prepared this for four people. If the members of your family are many, the amount of ingredients used may change depending on the amount of pumpkin you take.Also, pumpkin is a very nutritious food for children. So you can boil pumpkin and give to them. And it can be prepare in this way as well. If you like spicy foods, add more black pepper. black Pepper is very good for our body.


This recipe can be eaten with rice bread. Suitable for any meal, morning, noon or night. It is very tasty because it contains pepper and garlic. Try it too. It will have a very different taste.
