Tinda curry / tinda do pyaza recipe

Welcome to my blog again. I am so glad that you are here again. Today i would like to share one more recipe of apple gourd ( Tinda) which is a healthy vegetable. And we get these tinda (apple gourd/round gourd) from our farm which makes it more healthy and delicious . Also gives a another level happiness & satisfaction.

Some days ago i shared tinda ( apple gourd)curry recipe, one in clay pot which i made simply and second masala tinda recipe. This time i want to share one more recipe tinda do pyaaza.

The main ingredient of this recipe is tinda and onion which we chopped in 2 types and one we saute properly and second we add at the end to enjoy some raw taste of onion. We also add tomato and some spices.

This is an easy recipe which we can make easily and enjoy with chapati and rice at lunch or dinner. In India we mostly prefer eating roti and vegetables, curry. And to avoid getting bored of eating the same food everyday we keep trying the same vegetable with a twist. And here you can enjoy one twist which i tried some days ago. I get some idea from YouTube also.



INGREDIENTS ✅

  • Tinda 8-10 medium size
  • Onion 2
  • Tomato 1
  • Green chilli 2
  • Ginger
  • Oil 1 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Asafoetida one pinch
  • Salt to taste
  • Turmeric powder 2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder 1.5 tbsp
  • Garam masala 1/3 tsp
  • Lemon juice 1 tsp

PROCESS ✅

STEP 1 :

First cut the tinda in thin slices like this. Remove the outer skin , make two parts from between and remove seeds if seeds are hard. And last cut in the thin slices and wash with water properly.

Now cut the onion....one in the slices and second in the square Pieces.

Now finely chopped the tomato, green chilli and Ginger.

STEP 2 :

Now in a pan or kadai heat the oil, add cumin seeds and asafoetida.

When seeds start to crackle add ginger, chillies and onion. Saute the onion for 2-3 mintues on the low to medium flame.

When onion start to change in golden brown add tinda slices in it. Add salt and turmeric, give it a good mix and cook for 3-4 minutes or tinda gets soft.

STEP 3 :

When tinda cooked 80-90% add tomato and other species in it. And cook for 1-2 minutes.

STEP 4 :

At the last add onion which we kept aside . Give it a good mix, cook for some Seconds, add lemon drops and turn off the flame.

Your tinda curry or Tinda do pyaza is ready to enjoy. Enjoy it with hot chapathi.
