My Veggie Shopping (Beets)

My vegan purchase is a little turbulent. Why turbulent? I prepare to go shopping to have vegetables at home for the week, in addition to maintaining a balanced diet... as we Venezuelans learned to make the most of our meals. I consider my purchase turbulent because in the places where I usually buy it, it was old, very soft and you could tell how much time had passed there.

I wondered what was happening with the beets that were just as old in the places we visited, I think it was what they had left from Easter; I arrived at the open market and only one lady had them, not so pretty, her skin was not fresh, so I bought about 4 to use them as soon as possible.

I asked the lady what was happening with the beets since I had looked for them in several places and she answered that they were very expensive and the one she had for sale was the one she had left.

Beets have many benefits for the body, from nutrition to maintaining a pleasant tension for the body due to the components they provide us. We can consume it raw, I like to grate it with finely chopped onion, salt, and olive oil; It can also be consumed cooked, that's fine too. You can make juices combined with fruits such as oranges and other vegetables.

Nowadays, we have to be very wise in filtering information about foods...a few days ago I heard a doctor talking about the benefits of beets, insisting that they should not be used for juice, only raw or cut, cooked, but never juiced. One remains somewhat pensive.

It is now up to each person to review and keep the information that coincides with others so as not to fall into those information gaps that do a lot of harm. Something like who we believe.
