Hi my fellow Hivers,
How are you guys? I hope you are well. Yesterday being Sunday was a day off so I had the opportunity to join in the cooking activities. Lasia, known to Sri Lankans as Kohila, grows as small bushes in well-related environments. The leaves are edible as well as the tubers. Their tubers are covered with thick spines. By removing the thick thorny skin with a knife, the potato can be boiled or eaten raw. Lasia is a very good food. This is a very good food for hemorrhoids, which has a lot of fiber. So, today I have brought a delicious dish that we can prepare from lasia potatoes.
Lasia tubers can naturally be seen as above. In our garden, we have some grass growing in a frequently watered area.
Ingredients
- Two Lasia (kohila) potatoes, cleaned and peeled
- Two pieces of Garcinia
- Few mustard seeds
- Just need salt
- One and a half teaspoons of chili powder
- Half a teaspoon of turmeric powder
- A teaspoon of fried meat curry powder
- Chopped onions
- A chopped green chili pod
- Chopped garlic
- Pandan leaves and curry leaves
- A piece of lemon grass
- A little oil
- A little water
- Half a cup of fried and ground coconut
- Two tablespoons of fried and ground rice
Preparing steps
- Cut the lasia into round pieces, wash it, remove the water, add turmeric powder, a little chilli powder and salt, mix and keep it for about five minutes.
- Heat a pan and add oil. When the oil is hot, add the mixed lasia pieces and fry until golden.
- Heat some oil and add mustard seeds and splutter a little.
- Add chopped garlic and onion to it and fry.
- Now add pandan leaves, curry leaves, chopped green chillies and a piece of lemon grass to it and fry until golden.
- Next, add the fried meat curry powder and chili powder and stir it around with a spoon for about a minute.
- Next, add the roasted lacia pieces and about 2 pieces of Garcinia.
- Mix the fried ground coconut and fried ground rice in a little water and add it.
- Next let it boil on low flame. Remove from the heat after it becomes slightly liquid.
Of course this dish is very delicious and we took this meal with rice and other curries for a yesterday's lunch. I never eat lasia like this. We prepared lasia like as sambol and gravy previously. Lasia has so many healthy advantages.
