3 ingredient challenge

Hotdogs, anyone? Haha, that’s right, everyone says YES!
There are hundreds of commercially made vegan friendly sausages, and I find that most leave a lot to be desired. However, a simple carrot, flavoured with the right ingredients offers a very pleasing and scrumptious alternative. This recipe is super, duper easy (3 ingredients) and everyone loves these hotdogs. Even kids enjoy them as long as you don’t tell them that they’re eating a carrot! 🥕
Ingredients
Hotdogs
_ Young, firm carrot (6 medium sized 🥕 carrots)
_ Hotdog Rolls 🥖
_ Margarine
Spices and flavoring
_ 1 heaped tablespoon of Marmite
_ 3 tablespoons of soy sauce (quality soy eg: Kikkoman)
_ 1 ½ vegan stock cubes
_ Black pepper to taste
_ teaspoon garlic 🧄 powder
_ ½ teaspoon chilli 🌶 flakes
_ 1 ½ litres water for cooking
Method
Add all the spices and flavoring to
the water and bring to a boil.
Meanwhile peel the carrots.
Add the carrots to the water when it’s
bubbling and cook until fork tender
(tender, but still a little firm,
which takes about 15 to 18 minutes).
Serve the carrot “sausage” between
a split buttered roll
with ketchup and mustard, exactly as
you would for any hotdog. (PS: make sure that the ketchup is vegan, some ketchups have bone charred sugar in them)
Be prepared to be impressed
(Haha, it’s that good)
