¡Hola, amantes de los libros! Hace un tiempo que no publicaba en esta linda comunidad y de verdad extrañanaba mucho hacer algo en hive así que vi la iniciativa creada por @nicxi y decidí que si, debo hacerla también.
La iniciativa es sobre responder unas preguntas muy interesantes referente a nuestra experiencia como lectores, lo que me pareció perfecto ya que soy una gran fanática de los libros aunque debo admitir que últimamente no he podido leer mucho ya que al igual que el bloqueo de escritor creativo me da el bloqueo de lector y me pasa que me cuesta concentrarme en leer cualquier libro por largos periodos de tiempo (lo cual me entristece porque antes solía leer hasta 2-3 libros por semana), pero de todos modos quise responder estas preguntas porque me parece divertido unirme a esta iniciativa. Espero que les guste.
Hello, book lovers! It's been a while since I posted in this nice community and I really missed doing something on hive so I saw the initiative created by @nicxi and decided that yes, I should do it too.
The initiative is about answering some very interesting questions regarding our experience as readers, which seemed perfect to me since I'm a big fan of books although I must admit that lately I haven't been able to read much since just like creative writer's block I get reader's block and I find it hard to concentrate on reading any book for long periods of time (which makes me sad because I used to read up to 2-3 books a week), but anyway I wanted to answer these questions because I find it fun to join this initiative. I hope you like it.
1. ¿Cuál es el primer libro que recuerdas haber leído de niña/o? || What is the first book you remember reading as a child?
Algo que mi mamá y yo compartimos es el amor por la lectura por lo que no era extraño para mi encontrar libros clásicos en la pequeña estantería de mi casa, por lo que tenía acceso a varias obras literarias desde pequeña, el primer libro que leí me llamo la atención fue por su color y lo grande que era así que por pura curiosidad quise echarle una mirada.
No recuerdo el nombre del primer libro que leí pero si el tema perfectamente, tendría como 6 o 7 años cuando descubrí una gran enciclopedia de tapa dura y naranja que mostraba muchísimos tipos de animales y especies poco conocidas, el libro tenía las características de cada una de estas especies y recuerdo mostrarme fascinada por lo que estaba leyendo que sin darme cuenta había acabado el libro. La cuestión es que había quedado completamente enganchada y empecé a leer el libro una vez por semana hasta llegar a un punto donde casi me lo sabía al derecho y al revés de tantas veces que lo leí, por supuesto el libro se fue deteriorando con el paso del tiempo y deje de leerlo cuando descubrí otros géneros y libros nuevos gracias a la magia del Internet.
Something that my mom and I share is the love for reading so it was not strange for me to find classic books in the small bookshelf of my house, so I had access to several literary works since I was a child, the first book I read caught my attention was because of its color and how big it was so out of pure curiosity I wanted to take a look at it.
I don't remember the name of the first book I read but I remember the subject perfectly, I was about 6 or 7 years old when I discovered a big orange hardcover encyclopedia that showed many types of animals and little known species, the book had the characteristics of each of these species and I remember being so fascinated by what I was reading that without realizing it I had finished the book. The point is that I was completely hooked and I started to read the book once a week until I almost knew it backwards and forwards so many times I read it, of course the book deteriorated with the passage of time and I stopped reading it when I discovered other genres and new books thanks to the magic of the Internet.
2. ¿Cuál es el mejor momento para leer? || What is the best time to read?
No tengo un momento específico, para mi la mejor ocasión para leer es cuando hay tranquilidad y sin interrupción ya sea en ni cuarto, en el jardín de mi casa o en la sala de noche o de día pero sin ruido ni distracción de por medio. Puedo leer un libro de 500 páginas en un día porque la tranquilidad me permite leer sin parar, y si paso todo el día con la casa en silencio entonces es mucho más fácil para mi acabar el libro.
No me gusta leer de noche debido a que si me mantengo activa en el día luego la lectura en lugar de atraparme más bien me da sueño por lo que evito hacerlo de noche, pero como mencioné antes no tengo un momento específico del día para leer, cualquier chance de paz y tranquilidad es perfecto para mi y los libros.
I don't have a specific time, for me the best time to read is when it's quiet and uninterrupted whether it's in my room, in my garden or in the living room at night or during the day but without noise or distraction. I can read a 500 page book in a day because the quiet allows me to read non-stop, and if I spend the whole day with the house quiet then it is much easier for me to finish the book.
I don't like to read at night because if I stay active during the day then reading doesn't keep me so sleepy so I avoid reading at night, but as I mentioned before I don't have a specific time of the day to read, any chance of peace and quiet is perfect for me and books.
3. ¿En qué formato prefieres leer: digital, papel o ambos? || In what format do you prefer to read: digital, paper or both?
En papel, definitivamente la sensación y la concentración en la lectura es mucho mejor cuando tenemos en libro en nuestras manos o al menos eso pienso yo. Otra razón por la que prefiero libros físicos es porque tengo un problema visual (soy miope je) y la pantalla de computadoras, celulares o tablets me cansa mucho la vista así este usando los lentes en cambio los libros físicos son menos dañinos para mi visión lo cual es una ventaja, aunque lastimosamente la mayoría de los libros que leo son el digital por lo difícil que es conseguir los libros que me gustan en físico.
On paper, definitely the sensation and concentration in reading is much better when we have a book in our hands or at least that's what I think. Another reason why I prefer physical books is because I have a visual (I have myopia heh) and the screen of computers, cell phones or tablets makes my eyes feel tired even if I'm wearing glasses, instead physical books are less harmful to my vision which is an advantage, although unfortunately most of the books I read are digital because of how difficult it is to get the books I like in physical.
4. ¿Que te distrae más cuando lees? || What distracts you the most when you read?
Cuando estoy inmersa en la lectura es muy difícil distraerme por mi cuenta, no le hago caso al celular tampoco y sólo somos mi libro y yo pero si hay algo que me saca de la lectura de manera inmediata es que me llamen porque necesitan algo de mi, por ejemplo mi mamá o mis hermanos interrumpiendome porque necesita ayuda con algo y no les voy a decir que no así que me toca dejar el libro a un lado e ir con ellos a ver que necesitan. Pueden pensar que no es la gran cosa pero en mi casa sucede muy seguido, siempre me llaman porque necesitan ayuda con algo y esto me ha cortado la inspiración en muchas ocasiones.
When I am immersed in reading it is very difficult to distract myself on my own, I don't pay attention to my cell phone either and it's just me and my book but if there is something that takes me out of reading immediately is when they call me because they need something from me, for example my mom or my siblings interrupting me because they need help with something and I won't say no so I have to leave the book aside and go with them to see what they need. You may think it's no big deal but in my house it happens very often, they always call me because they need help with something and this has cut my inspiration on many occasions.
5. ¿Género favorito? || Favorite genre?
He leído varios géneros pero he mencionado mucho antes que mis favoritos son el terror sobrenatural, psicológico y el suspenso. Desde siempre este género me ha llamado mucho la atención en películas, series y por supuesto los libros ya que me gusta la tensión y la incertidumbre de que esta ocurriendo y por que, me gusta hacerme esas típicas preguntas que todos nos hacemos leyendo algo de misterio (¿qué los está persiguiendo?, ¿quién es el asesino?, ¿qué cosa es el monstruo?) Me hago una película en mi cabeza de todo lo que está pasando y definitivamente seguiré siendo amante de este género por muchísimo tiempo más, no quiere decir que este cerrada a probar otros tipos de historias ya que como mencioné he leído romance, fantasía y comedia también pero el terror siempre se queda con el broche de oro.
I have read several genres but I have mentioned before that my favorites are supernatural, psychological horror and suspense. This genre has always caught my attention in movies, series and of course books because I like the tension and uncertainty of what is going on and why, I like to ask myself those typical questions that we all ask ourselves when reading a mystery (what is chasing them?, who is the killer?, what is the monster?) I make a movie in my head of everything that is going on and I will definitely continue to be a lover of this genre for a long time to come, not to say that I am closed to trying other types of stories because as I mentioned I have read romance, fantasy and comedy as well but horror always takes the cake.
