Bonita tarde comunidad de Hive Book Club 👋, estoy aquí hoy para participar en el concurso propuesto por la comunidad acerca de hablar sobre los mejores libros que leímos en este año 2022 y los que queremos leer en el año 2023 que ya está a la vuelta de la esquina. Para participar no necesitas hablar de los dos temas, puedes escoger uno solo, en mi caso yo decidí hablar de los dos.
Este año me leí aproximadamente siete libros de diferentes géneros, tales como fantasía, autoayuda, espiritualidad, misterio, crimen y romance (admito que de joven solía leer más libros, pero bueno, la vida de adulto consume). Títulos como los que mencionaré aquí que tengo en físico (el perfume, el príncipe y muchos cuerpos, una misma alma) y otros que leí en PDF (el poder del ahora y la saga Bridgerton) fueron sin duda mis lecturas preferidas, permíteme contarte un poco sobre ellas.
Nice afternoon Hive Book Club community 👋, I'm here today to participate in the contest proposed by the community about talking about the best books we read in this year 2022 and the ones we want to read in the year 2023 which is just around the corner. To participate you don't need to talk about both topics, you can choose only one, in my case I decided to talk about both.
This year I read approximately seven books of different genres, such as fantasy, self-help, spirituality, mystery, crime and romance (I admit that when I was younger I used to read more books, but well, adult life is consuming). Titles like the ones I will mention here that I have in physical (The perfume, The prince and Same soul, Many bodies) and others that I read in PDF (The power of now and The Bridgerton saga) were without a doubt my favorite reads, let me tell you a little about them.
Comencemos con "El perfume: historia de un asesino" escrito por Patrick Süskind. Muchos reconocerán este libro por su nombre y portada, pues lo asociaran con la popular película que se realizó basada en el mismo en el año 2006. Quise leer este libro precisamente por la película, ya que cuando la vi quede fascinada, porque aunque narra la historia de un asesino, la producción es bastante sublime y da para analizar ciertos comportamientos.
La historia gira alrededor del protagonista Jean-Baptiste Grenouille y su particular vida. Desde que Grenouille nació, es un ser diferente, sus circunstancias de nacimiento fueron bastante pintorescas y tiene un sentido del olfato hiperdesarrollado así que percibe el mundo mayormente a través de él. Grenouille al tener ese "talento" olfativo siempre está buscando nuevos olores, curiosamente, Grenouille no tiene olor propio, por lo que se embarca en la búsqueda de uno, pero lamentablemente no lo hace de la mejor forma, sino que empieza a hacer cosas abominables para lograr su objetivo.
Para mí esta historia, aunque es un poco retorcida, puede interpretarse como la búsqueda de una identidad personal, Grenouille está indignado por no tener olor y desea uno para él, desea de alguna forma pertenecer. Su comportamiento y el de los demás personajes en la historia es digno de analizar, observaremos el salvajismo que puede llegar a tener el ser humano y quedaremos sorprendidos ante tan buena narrativa. Si te gusta el misterio y horror, este libro te va a gustar.
Let's start with "Perfume: The Story of a Murderer" written by Patrick Süskind. Many will recognize this book by its name and cover, because it will be associated with the popular movie that was made based on it in 2006. I wanted to read this book precisely for the movie, because when I saw it I was fascinated, because although it tells the story of a murderer, the production is quite sublime and gives to analyze certain behaviors.
The story revolves around the protagonist Jean-Baptiste Grenouille and his particular life. Since Grenouille was born, he is a different being, his birth circumstances were quite peculiar and he has a hyper-developed sense of smell so he perceives the world mostly through it. Grenouille having that olfactory "talent" is always looking for new smells, curiously, Grenouille has no smell of his own, so he embarks on a quest to find one, but unfortunately he doesn't do it in the best way, he starts doing abominable things to achieve his goal.
To me this story although it is a bit twisted, can be interpreted as a search for a personal identity, Grenouille is outraged at not having a smell and desires one for himself, he wants to somehow belong. His behavior and the behavior of the other characters in the story is worth analyzing, we will observe the brutality that human beings can have and we will be surprised by such a great narrative. If you like mystery and horror, you will like this book.
Muchos cuerpos, una misma alma escrito por Brian Weiss (publicado en el 2004). Reconocerán el nombre del autor por haber escrito el famoso libro "Muchas vidas, Muchos maestros".
Este año el mundo de la espiritualidad me ha hecho un llamado, por lo que empece a investigar sobre él, que lo compone, sus diferentes significados, ramas, entre otras cosas. En mis investigaciones llegué al tema de las vidas pasadas, que es algo de lo que se habla bastante en la espiritualidad, gracias a eso encontré a Brian Weiss y sus libros.
En "Muchas vidas, Muchos maestros", Brian nos habla acerca de las vidas pasadas y las regresiones, en cambio, en "Muchos cuerpos, una misma alma" nos habla de que lo que hagamos en esta vida influirá en nuestras reencarnaciones a lo largo del camino de evolución, es decir, tiene un enfoque hacia el futuro.
Si te consideras alguien espiritual o estás interesado en saber más al respecto, crees en la reencarnación y en la inmortalidad del alma, en como poder crecer como personas para alcanzar la máxima evolución, entonces esta lectura es para ti, sin duda te otorgara mucha sabiduría y paz.
Same soul, Many bodies by Brian Weiss (published in 2004). You will recognize the author's name for having written the famous book "Many Lives, Many Masters".
This year the world of spirituality has called me, so I started to investigate about it, what composes it, its different meanings, ramifications, among other things. In my research I came to the subject of past lives, which is something that is talked about a lot in spirituality, thanks to that I found Brian Weiss and his books.
In "Many Lives, Many Masters", Brian talks about past lives and regressions, while in "Same soul, Many bodies" he talks about how what we do in this life will influence our reincarnations along the path of evolution, in other words, it has a focus on the future.
If you consider yourself a spiritual person or you are interested in knowing more about it, you believe in reincarnation and the immortality of the soul, in how to grow as a person to reach the highest evolution, then this reading is for you, it will undoubtedly give you much wisdom and peace.
El príncipe, escrito por Nicolás Maquiavelo (publicado originalmente en el año 1532).
Este libro lo recomendó un profesor en una clase cuando estaba en la Universidad, estudie derecho y ese profesor impartía la clase de derecho constitucional, por lo que considero que debíamos leernos ese libro, debido a eso lo compre y a pesar de que lo tengo desde hace ya algunos años, este año fue que me di la oportunidad de leerlo. Honestamente, este no es mi tipo de lectura habitual, pero no puedo negar que el libro enseña muchas cosas, por eso lo incluí en esta lista.
El libro es básicamente un tratado político que explica cómo sería un sistema ideal de gobierno, es una obra bastante filosófica en el ámbito de la política. El libro es corto por lo que a pesar de que trata temas políticos no se hace pesado, también la forma en la que está narrado ayuda en eso. Leyendo este libro analizaremos si algunas veces el fin justifica los medios.
The Prince, written by Niccolo Machiavelli (originally published in 1532).
This book was recommended by a professor in a class when I was in college, I studied law and that professor taught the class of constitutional law, so he considered that we should read that book, because of that I bought it and although I have it for some years now, this year was that I gave me the opportunity to read it. Honestly, this is not my usual type of reading, but I cannot deny that the book teaches many things, that is why I included it in this list.
The book is basically a political essay that explains what an ideal system of government would be like, it is a fairly philosophical work in the field of politics. The book is short so even though it deals with political issues it does not become heavy, also the way it is narrated helps in that. Reading this book we will analyze if sometimes the end justifies the means.

El poder del ahora, escrito por Eckhart Tolle (publicado en el año 1997). Como mencione anteriormente, este año he investigado mucho sobre la espiritualidad, gracias a eso llego a mí el libro de "el poder del ahora". Este libro lo leí en formato PDF, pero sin duda cuando pueda lo compraré en físico, pues se convirtió en unos de mis favoritos de todos los tiempos.
En el poder del ahora Eckhart Tolle nos cuenta la difícil vivencia que lo hizo despertar espiritualmente y alcanzar un nivel de consciencia elevado que trajo consigo mucha paz. Debido a esto, él decidió seguir el camino espiritual, viajando por el mundo para conocer a diferentes maestros espirituales provenientes de diferentes culturas. En su viaje Eckhart aprendió mucho y en este libro nos cuenta todo el conocimiento que adquirió para poder nosotros elevar nuestra consciencia.
Leer este libro me dio mucha paz, yo me cuestionaba muchas cosas y Eckhart en este libro respondió todas mis dudas. Si tú también estás pasando por un proceso espiritual, te recomiendo leerlo, si no, es mejor empezar primero a investigar antes de leer este tipo de lecturas, pues pueden ser chocantes para algunos sino se sabe del tema o se está preparado.
The Power of Now, written by Eckhart Tolle (published in 1997). As I mentioned before, this year I have researched a lot about spirituality, thanks to that I got the book "The Power of Now". I read this book in PDF format, but without a doubt when I can I will buy it in physical format, because it became one of my favorites of all times.
In The Power of Now Eckhart Tolle tells us about the difficult experience that made him awaken spiritually and reach a higher level of consciousness that brought him great peace. Because of this, he decided to follow the spiritual path, traveling the world to meet different spiritual teachers from different cultures. In his journey Eckhart learned a lot and in this book he tells us all the knowledge he acquired in order for us to raise our consciousness.
Reading this book gave me a lot of peace, I was questioning many things and Eckhart in this book answered all my questions. If you are also going through a spiritual process, I recommend you to read it, if not, it is better to start researching first before reading this kind of readings, because they can be shocking for some if you don't know about the subject or if you are not prepared.

La saga Bridgerton escrita por Julia Quinn (desde el año 2000) la conocerán por su popular adaptación de Netflix, me encantan los romances de época, así que ame demasiado la serie, por lo que tuve que si o si leerme los libros. Mi historia favorita es la del hermano mayor de la familia, Anthony, llamada "El vizconde que me amó".
La saga Bridgerton está compuesta por varios libros del género romance de época que nos cuentan las vivencias amorosas de los hermanos Bridgerton. No sé si donde vivo vendan los libros en físico, pero los que he leído lo hice en PDF, al leerlos me di cuenta de que existen bastante diferencias entre los libros y la adaptación a la TV, pero bueno, eso es algo común y realmente aprecio las dos formas de contar la historia, para mí los romances de época nunca pasan de moda, tienen algo especial que considero los hace más bonitos que los modernos, ¿tiene sentido esto?, para mí sí.
The Bridgerton saga written by Julia Quinn (since 2000) you will know it from its popular Netflix adaptation, I love period romances, so I loved the series too much, so obviously I had to read the books. My favorite story is the one about the eldest brother of the family, Anthony, called "The Viscount Who Loved Me".
The Bridgerton saga is made up of several books in the period romance genre that tell us about the love affairs of the Bridgerton brothers. I don't know if where I live they sell the books in physical format, but the ones I have read I did it in PDF, when I read them I realized that there are many differences between the books and the TV adaptation, but well, that's something common and I really appreciate the two ways of telling the story, for me the period romances never go out of fashion, they have something special that I consider makes them more beautiful than the modern ones, does this make sense?, for me yes.

En el 2023 me gustaría leer la saga de cazadores de sombras: Renacimiento. Cazadores de sombras (historias escritas por Cassandra Clare) tiene varias sagas a su nombre, debo decir que son de mis libros de fantasía favoritos, ya me leí la saga principal (Los intrumentos mortales) y los origines, ahora quiero leerme la saga de Renacimiento.
"Años después de la primera saga de Cazadores de Sombras, Emma, la protagonista, tendrá que enfrentarse a muchos problemas, enamorarse de la única persona que tiene prohibido enamorarse, mientras investiga la muerte de sus padres, luchara por evitar lo que está ocurriendo en los Ángeles."

Diversidad de seres mágicos, amor, luchas contra el mal y derroche de fantasía son los temas principales de todos los libros de Cazadores de Sombras y a mí todo eso me encanta, así que espero con ansias leer renacimiento.
In 2023 I would like to read the Shadowhunters saga: The Dark Artifices. Shadowhunters (stories written by Cassandra Clare) has several sagas to her name, I must say they are one of my favorite fantasy books, I already read the main saga (The Mortal Instruments) and the origins (The infernal Devices), now I want to read The Dark Artifices saga.
"Years after the first Shadowhunters saga, Emma, the main character, will have to face many problems, falling in love with the only person she is forbidden to fall in love with, while investigating the death of her parents, she will fight to avoid what is happening in Los Angeles."

Diversity of magical beings, love, fights against evil and a splurge of fantasy are the main themes of all the Shadowhunters books and I love all of that, so I'm looking forward to reading The Dark Artifices.
De momento los libros de Cazadores de sombras: Renacimiento son los que ya tengo planeado leer en el 2023, sé que hay uno el cual quiero leer que de hecho vi la reseña aquí, pero no recuerdo el nombre, debo buscar el post para recordar, por lo demás, mientras el año avance sé que encontraré nuevas lecturas que me llamaran la atención y seguro las leeré, estaré pendiente aquí en Hive Book Club para agregar libros a mi lista de lectura para este nuevo año que se viene.

At the moment the Shadowhunters: The Dark Artifices books are the ones I already plan to read in 2023, I know there is one I want to read that I actually saw the review here, but I don't remember the name, I must look for the post to remember, for the rest, as the year progresses I know I will find new books that will catch my attention and I will surely read them, I will be watching here at Hive Book Club to add books to my reading list for this new year that is coming.
