Today I will review the sixth book in the Harry Potter series. The end of the series is already in sight. After this book review, I only have one book left to review. I will not review Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Because this book is not a part of the series. It was not written by Rowling. I must also say that many fans of the Harry Potter series did not like this book very much. Unfortunately, I am among that majority.
With this book, the story now transitions in a completely dark atmosphere. Now war is at hand and the deaths have accelerated. You must have understood from the books so far that J.K. Rowling enjoys writing the deaths of beloved characters. In this book, we will read about the death of a very critical character.
We will discover aspects of some characters that we did not know. Some characters will get really frustrating. You may even have minor nervous breakdowns while reading. lol. At least that's how it was for me. Let's take a look at the subject without further spoilers!
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
The book begins with tense conversations. Voldemort's return had already been acknowledged. But people ignored it. With this book, people started to panic and fear. Several conversations take place between the Muggle prime minister and the Minister of Magic. But the Muggle prime minister hardly understands why this concerns them.
Harry goes school shopping with the Weasleys. He thinks he won't be able to take Potions class this year because Snape's grade standards are so high. That's why he doesn't buy supplies for the Potions class. He sees and follows Draco Malfoy in Diagon Alley. At the Borgin and Burkes shop, he sees Malfoy acting impulsively and begins to think that Malfoy is up to something.
When they return to Hogwarts, there is a surprise waiting for everyone. The Potions class teacher is no longer Severus Snape. In fact, it is Horace Slughorn, whom Harry had known before thanks to Dumbledore. The teacher of Defense Against the Dark Arts is now Severus Snape.
Dumbledore and Harry began private sessions. Through these sessions, Harry learns about Voldemort's past. There is only one memory in Voldemort's past that they cannot see. The owner of this memory is Professor Slughorn. Harry learns of this memory and is forced to face things called horcruxes. Now his mission is to destroy these horcruxes. The two horcruxes have already been destroyed.
Harry didn't get supplies for the potions class, but he's forced to Potions the class. Professor Slughorn gives him an old book and Harry succeeds with it. On the cover of the book, the author says the book belongs to the Half-Blood Prince. Harry later learns that the Half-Blood Prince is Severus Snape.
Harry later finds out what Draco Malfoy is up to. But it happens in a sad way. I'm not going to tell you beyond here. I don't think it's right to talk about the last 50 pages of the book. Because I think there may be a part with too much spoiler.
I would like to give a little personal opinion and end my review. First of all, we see that almost every character in this book has a dark side. Even my favorite character, Hermione, being jealous of Harry for him success in Potions class was one of those changes. Or it was strange that Ron suddenly turned into a character in love. Frankly, I think Ron is the weakest character in this trio called "Golden Trio".
The middle part of the book was a little slow. Not many critical events took place in these parts. I think almost all events are told in the last 100 pages. It made the story a little boring. But the realities we face in this book are quite surprising. This offers something worth reading. J.K. Rowling is a writer who loves to surprise her readers.

Bugün Harry Potter serisinin altıncı kitabını inceleyeceğim. Serinin sonu gözükmeye başladı bile. Bu kitap incelemesinden sonra incelemem gereken sadece bir kitap kalıyor. Harry Potter ve Lanetli Çocuk kitabını incelemeyeceğim. Çünkü bu kitap seriye dahil olan bir kitap değil. Bizzat J.K. Rowling tarafından yazılmadı. Şunu da söylemeliyim ki Harry Potter serisinin birçok hayranı da bu kitaptan pek haz etmedi. Ne yazık ki ben de bu çoğunluğun içindeyim.
Bu kitapla birlikte hikaye artık tamamen karanlık bir atmosferde geçiş yapıyor. Artık savaş kapıda ve ölümler hızlandı. Zaten şu ana kadarki kitaplardan da anlamış olmalısınız ki J.K. Rowling sevilen karakterlerin ölümlerini yazmaktan zevk alıyor. Bu kitapta da çok kritik bir karakterin ölümünü okuyacağız.
Bazı karakterlerin bilmediğimiz yönlerini keşfedeceğiz. Bazı karakterler gerçekten sinir bozucu bir hal alacak. Hatta okurken ufak çaplı sinir krizleri geçirebilirsiniz. lol. En azından benim açımdan durum bu şekildeydi. Hadi daha fazla spoiler vermeden biraz da konuyu inceleyelim!
Harry Potter ve Melez Prens
Kitap gergin geçen konuşmalarla başlıyor. Voldemort'un dönüşü zaten kabul edilmişti. Ama insanlar bu durumu görmezden geliyordu. Bu kitapla birlikte insanların artık paniklediğini ve korkmaya başlamıştır. Muggle başbakanı ve Sihir bakanı arasında birkaç konuşma geçer. Ama Muggle başbakanı bu durumun neden onları ilgilendirdiğini pek anlamaz.
Harry ise Weasley'ler ile okul alışverişine çıkar. Snape'in not standartları çok yüksek olduğu için bu sene "İksir" dersi alamayacağını düşünür. Bu yüzden İksir dersi için malzeme almaz. Diagon Yolu'nda Draco Malfoy'u görür ve takip eder. Borgin ve Burkes isimli dükkanda Malfoy'un fevri tavırlar takındığını görür ve Malfoy'un bir şeylerin peşinde olduğunu düşünmeye başlar.
Hogwarts'a döndüklerinde ise herkesi bekleyen bir sürpriz vardır. İksir dersinin öğretmeni artık Severus Snape değildir. Hatta Harry'nin Dumbledore sayesinde daha önceden tanıdığı Horace Slughorn'dır. Karanlık Sanatlara Karşı Savunma dersinin öğretmeni ise artık Severus Snape'dir.
Dumbledore ve Harry özel seanslara başlamışlardır. Harry bu seanslar sayesinde Voldemort'un geçmişini öğrenir. Voldemort'un geçmişinde göremedikleri tek bir anı vardır. Bu anının sahibi ise Profesör Slughorn'dır. Harry bu anıyı öğrenir ve hortkuluk denilen şeylerle yüzleşmek zorunda kalır. Artık görevi bu hortkulukları yok etmektir. İki hortkuluk daha önceden yok edilmiştir bile.
Harry iksir dersi için malzeme almamıştır ama derse girmek zorunda kalır. Profesör Slughorn ona eski bir kitap verir ve Harry bu kitap sayesinde çok başarılı olur. Kitabın kapağında kitap Melez Prens'e aittir yazar. Harry daha sonra Melez Prens'in Severus Snape olduğunu öğrenir.
Harry daha sonra Draco Malfoy'un neyin peşinde olduğunu öğrenir. Ama bu üzücü bir şekilde olur. Buradan sonrasını anlatmayacağım. Kitabın son 50 sayfası hakkında konuşmak bence doğru değil. Çünkü fazlaca spoier içeren bir kısım olabileceğini düşünüyorum.
Biraz kişisel görüş bildirip inceleme yazımı sonlandırmak istiyorum. Öncelikle bu kitapta neredeyse her karakterin karanlık bir yönü olduğunu görüyoruz. Favori karakterim Hermione'nin İksir dersindeki başarısı yüzünden Harry'i kıskanması bile bu değişikliklerden biriydi. Ya da Ron'un birden aşık bir karaktere dönüşmesi de garipti. Açıkçası "Golden Trio" denen bu üçlüde en zayıf karakterin Ron olduğunu düşünüyorum.
Kitabın orta kısımları biraz yavaş ilerliyordu. Bu kısımlarda pek fazla kritik olay gerçekleşmedi. Neredeyse tüm olayların son 100 sayfada anlatıldığını düşünüyorum. Bu hikayeyi biraz sıkıcılaştırıyordu. Ama bu kitapta yüzleştiğimiz gerçekler oldukça şaşırtıcı. Bu da okunmaya değer bir şeyler sunuyor. J.K. Rowling okuyucusunu şaşırtmatu seven bir yazar.
