Vuelvo a ser atrapado por el embrujo de la lectura, hecho que para mí es sumamente placentero. Esta vez estoy investigando misteriosos robos, crímenes y desaparecidos; y ando de la mano del mejor detective de todos los tiempos, el más famoso de la literatura; se trata de Sherlock Holmes, del autor Arthur Conan Doyle.

Ya sabía de este libro, pero no había tenido la oportunidad de tenerlo en mis manos hasta que mi hijo @cientificojosean me lo prestó. La anécdota es graciosa porque él tiene su propia biblioteca y entre sus libros está el de Sherlock Holmes, pero yo no sabía y cuando vi que lo estaba leyendo me dio celos de lector, «Oye» le dije «cómo es que tú tienes un ejemplar de ese clásico y yo no» y para compensar mi carencia esperé a que él hiciera su lectura diaria para empezar a leerlo.

Así lo he hecho estos tres últimos días, espero que mi hijo desocupe el libro para avanzar en mi lectura. Tuve que posponer otras lecturas por aventurarme en el mundo ficcional detectivesco de Arthur Conan Doyle, autor que atrapa por la profundidad que maneja en cada relato, por la sencillez con que usa su inteligencia para resolver los misterios; va atando cabos sin dejar ni uno suelto y en el momento preciso nos sorprende con la exposición de los hechos, dejándonos maravillados por la agudeza de su intelecto, por la manera de trabajar el detalle, de conectarlos para dar con la resolución del problema.

Sin duda que leer este libro es una experiencia más de vida por lo habilidoso en que está escrito, por lo que sugiere a quienes somos curiosos del lenguaje, de la literatura, de las estructuras literarias y porque como lector andamos en búsqueda del placer generado por los buenos libros y las Aventuras de Sherlock Holmes es uno de esos que al terminar de leerse, hay que releerlo.

I am once again caught by the spell of reading, a fact that for me is extremely pleasurable. This time I am investigating mysterious robberies, crimes and missing persons; and I am walking hand in hand with the best detective of all times, the most famous in literature; it is Sherlock Holmes, by Arthur Conan Doyle.

I already knew about this book, but I had not had the opportunity to hold it in my hands until my son @cientificojosean lent it to me. The anecdote is funny because he has his own library and among his books is Sherlock Holmes, but I didn't know and when I saw that he was reading it I got reader's jealousy, "Hey" I said "how come you have a copy of that classic and I don't" and to make up for my lack I waited for him to do his daily reading to start reading it.

I have been like this for three days now, waiting for my son to put the book down so I can continue with my reading. I had to postpone other readings to venture into the fictional detective world of Arthur Conan Doyle, an author who captures us by the depth he manages in each story, by the simplicity with which he uses his intelligence to solve mysteries; he ties up loose ends without leaving a single one loose and at the right moment he surprises us with the exposition of the facts, leaving us amazed by the sharpness of his intellect, by the way he works the details, connecting them to find the resolution of the problem.

Undoubtedly, reading this book is another life experience because of the way it is so skillfully written, because of what it suggests to those of us who are curious about language, literature, literary structures and because as a reader we are in search of the pleasure that good books generate, and The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes is one of those that when you finish reading it, you have to reread it.
