When I was 14 years old, I first visited a public library. Let me tell you why I had to visit her. I had all the books they asked for at the high school and more, but for research purposes, we always need specific books that do not come in school books, so I had to go to the library in my city. My impression was very big since it was a huge place where there were many shelves full of books.
There were many people in the library and yet there was no noise, everything was in order and quiet. They were all immersed in their searches and tasks. There were no computers or the internet, which is why it was so essential to go to the library to do homework or research.

By the time my children were studying elementary school, the internet came and homework and work came from the computer, only not everyone had internet at home and they had to solve their homework in a library or ask other students to do their homework in groups now. that teachers rated computer-generated work best rated.
Despite all this modernity, the city library was not eliminated, quite the contrary. The government understood that it should be modified with modern computers, brailler machines (for the visually impaired), they included an area to teach computing to the elderly and incorporated computers for all users who visited the library.
Libraries and modern times.
Computers brought the entire library to the house, now there are virtual books, in PDF format, that can be downloaded and read at the time you go and in the comfort of your home. Now, if it is true that the book as such deteriorates its appearance by time, use and others, it is also true that a book in pdf can be lost due to the deactivation of a computer due to damage. Unless it is saved in your mail or in a program in the cloud so that it is always at the user's hand.

My opinion is that libraries should continue to exist so that the children of our grandchildren and great-grandchildren see what was used to study in these times, look a bit at their past as we did with the things we did not know. I think that the book as such is no longer being made since the new books are virtual, in PDF programs and that we will get to the moment of going to a place in the form of a hologram.

What´s app with its video calls, Zoom with its group meetings, glasses for virtual reality, computers and the internet and many more applications and modern artifacts that in a few years will be more new things, if the libraries are not updated according to what that modernity has advanced, they will surely remain only in memory. But if they invent something to keep up with the things that are coming out, surely we will have libraries even if it is to sit down and remember what it was like to turn the pages of the books and how they looked. What is not updated, is extinguished, even the human being.

Cuando tenía 14 años, visité por primera vez una biblioteca pública. Déjame decirte el por qué tuve que visitarla. Yo tenía todos los libros que pedían en el liceo y más, pero para asuntos de investigación, siempre hace falta unos libros específicos que no vienen en los libros escolares, así que tuve que acudir a la biblioteca de mi ciudad. Mi impresión fue muy grande ya que era un sitio enorme donde habían muchos estantes repletos de libros.
Había mucha gente en la biblioteca y sin embargo no se escuchaba ningún ruido, todo estaba en orden y en silencio. Todos estaban sumergidos en sus búsquedas y tareas. Para cuando mis hijos estudiaban la escuela básica llegó el internet y llegaron las tareas y los trabajos desde el computador, solo que no todos tenían internet en su casa y debían solucionar sus tareas en una biblioteca o pedirle a otros alumnos hacer la tarea en grupos ya que los maestros calificaban mejor a los trabajos presentados realizados en computadora.
A pesar de toda esta modernidad, la biblioteca de la ciudad no fue eliminada, todo lo contrario. El gobierno entendió que debía ser modificada con modernas computadoras, máquinas brailler (para los discapacitados visuales), incluyeron una área para enseñar computación a la tercera edad e incorporaron computadoras para todos los usuarios que visitaban la biblioteca.

Mi opinión es que las bibliotecas deben seguir existiendo para que los hijos de nuestros nietos y bisnietos vean lo que se usaba para estudiar en estos tiempos, miren un poco a su pasado como lo hicimos nosotros con las cosas que no conocimos. Pienso que el libro como tal ya no se está haciendo ya que los nuevos libros son virtuales, en programas PDF y que llegaremos al momento de ir a un lugar en forma de holograma.

Pero si se inventan algo para estar a la par con las cosas que vayan saliendo, seguramente tendremos bibliotecas aunque sea para sentarnos a recordar lo que era pasar las hojas de los libros y cómo se veían. Lo que no se actualiza, se extingue, hasta el ser humano.
