Hello again to all the readers of the Hive Book Club community! Today I will share a great book by medical doctor and psychoanalyst Fritz Perls entitled Dreams and Existence published in 1974. When I first saw the cover of the book, it caught my attention too much. So I did not hesitate to read it as soon as I had it in my hands. In the following, I will briefly tell you what it is about, and what relevance it has for our lives.
¡Hola nuevamente a todos los lectores (as) de la comunidad de Hive Book Club! Hoy compartiré un grandioso libro del Doctor en medicina y psicoanalista Fritz Perls que se titula Sueños y existencia publicada en 1974. La primera vez que vi la portada del libro, me llamó demasiado la atención. Así que no dudé en leerlo apenas lo tuve en mis manos. A continuación, les platicaré brevemente de qué trata, y que relevancia tiene para nuestras vidas.
Book: Dreams and Existence
Well, before giving the summary of the book, I would like to define the term psychoanalysis or rather what does a psychoanalyst do since the book in general reflects several key points related to the terminology. Thus, a psychoanalyst is in charge of investigating the unconscious. Applying certain techniques, which will help the patient to bring to consciousness the repressed. The psychoanalyst must conduct several interviews with the patient in order to determine the symptoms and design a work plan that will help to cure and free the patient from what has been affecting him/her.
Bien, antes de dar el resumen del libro, me gustaría definir el término sicoanálisis o mejor dicho que hace un psicoanalista ya que el libro en general refleja diversos puntos claves relacionados con la terminología. De esta manera, un psicoanalista es el encargado de investigar el inconsciente. Aplicando ciertas técnicas, que ayudará al paciente a traer a la conciencia lo reprimido. Este debe realizar varias entrevistas con el paciente para determinar así los síntomas y proyectar un plan de trabajo que ayude a curar y liberar al paciente de aquello que le ha estado afectando.
In this context, when I began to read the book I noticed that it consists of several sessions and seminars of psychotherapy carried out by Perls, where in the first four chapters he expresses several talks defining in the first place, the theory of Guestaltic Therapy that has as purpose to achieve that the individual grows and can develop his own potentialities. Likewise, in the second part he shows several seminars, whose main theme is dreams. In this way, Perls presents individual cases, a very intelligent way of working with dreams.
Bajo este contexto, cuando inicié a leer el libro noté que la misma consta de varias sesiones y seminarios de sicoterapia llevados a cabo por Perls, en donde en los primeros cuatro capítulos expresa varias charlas definiendo en primer lugar, la teoría de la Terapia Guestáltica que tiene como finalidad lograr que el individuo crezca y pueda desarrollar sus propias potencialidades. Asimismo, en la segunda parte muestra varios seminarios, que tiene por tema principal; los sueños. De esta manera, Perls presenta casos individuales, una forma muy inteligente de trabajar los sueños.
The whole book is imbued with the personality of the author and the participants in his seminars and workshops at the Esalen Institute. I admit that it is a bit deep, so it requires a lot of concentration to understand every aspect said by Perls.
Todo el libro está impregnado de la personalidad del autor y de los participantes en sus seminarios y talleres del Instituto Esalen. Admito que es un poco profundo, así que se requiere de muchísima concentración para comprender cada aspecto dicho por Perls.
