Hoy nos toca hablar sobre un libro de romance y, decidí escoger un libro que formó parte de mi adolescencia. Una saga de libros que genera mucho amor/odio entre el público, sin embargo, siempre mantendrá un espacio importante en mí vida porque forma parte de recuerdos agradables de aquella época. Today it's our turn to talk about a romance book and, I decided to choose a book that was part of my adolescence. A book saga that generates a lot of love/hate among the public, however, it will always keep an important place in my life because it is part of pleasant memories of that time. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer.
El primer libro de la saga, Crepúsculo, fue publicado en el año 2005 y, el último libro, narrado desde la perspectiva de nuestra protagonista Amanecer, fue publicado en el año 2008.
Para el año 2020 se publicó un quinto libro, que relataba todos los acontecimientos de ésta historia desde la perspectiva de Edward Cullen.
Pero hoy les hablaré sólo del primer libro.
Siempre estaremos dentro de los pensamientos de Isabella Swan, quién se muda a Forks con su padre para iniciar una vida nueva desde cero. Forks resulta ser un pueblo frío y aburrido, hasta que en la línea de tiempo de nuestra protagonista llega Edward Cullen, el típico chico misterioso y seductor del cuál nuestra protagonista terminará enamorada.
El giro argumental de éste romance sucede cuando Isabella descubre que Edward en realidad es un vampiro y que, su vida realmente corre peligro al estar muy cerca de la familia Cullen. No obstante, ella decide ignorar las señales de alerta y seguir adelante con su relación, sin importar el daño colateral que esto pueda causar.

But today I will tell you only about the first book.
We will always be inside the thoughts of Isabella Swan, who moves to Forks with her father to start a new life from scratch. Forks turns out to be a cold and boring town, until in the timeline of our protagonist arrives Edward Cullen, the typical mysterious and seductive boy with whom our protagonist will end up falling in love.
The plot twist of this romance happens when Isabella discovers that Edward is actually a vampire and that her life is really in danger being too close to the Cullen family. However, she decides to ignore the warning signs and move forward with her relationship, regardless of the collateral damage this may cause.
La familia Cullen no se consideran peligrosos para el resto de humanos, ya que ellos no consumen sangre humana, sino de animal. Sin embargo, el aroma de Bella se vuelve irresistible para Edward y, no sólo para él, sino también para los antagonistas que encontraremos más adelante. Por tanto, pese a que él no es peligroso para el resto de mortales del pueblo, para ella si puede llegar a serlo.
Los vampiros en el mundo de Meyer poseen muchas más habilidades aparte de la inmortalidad, que se compagina más que nada con la personalidad de cada uno. En el caso de Edward Cullen, es intuitivo y puede leer los pensamientos de todos, excepto de... Bella, claro que sí.
Así como también pueden enamorarse, sentir deseo y amar. Por tanto comienza ésta historia de amor que, en su mayoría, sí que es un peligro.
Los vampiros no son las únicas criaturas mitológicas de ésta historia, también tenemos a los hombre-lobo, en dónde conoceremos a Jacob, quién también se enamora profundamente de nuestra protagonista (y no es de mi agrado, la verdad). Aunque se le agradece a Jacob el haber dejado la semilla de la curiosidad en Bella para descubrir que Edward era un vampiro.

Just as they can fall in love, feel desire and love. So begins this love story that, for the most part, is indeed a danger.
Vampires are not the only mythological creatures in this story, we also have the werewolves, where we will meet Jacob, who also falls deeply in love with our protagonist (and is not to my liking, to be honest). Although we are grateful to Jacob for having left the seed of curiosity in Bella to discover that Edward was a vampire.
Para ser sincera, me gusta mucho la historia de amor que nace entre Bella y Edward, me gusta mucho más cómo son los personajes en el libro, que en las películas. Por si aún no lo habéis leído, la realidad es que Bella no es tan fría e inexpresiva en los libros.
Diría que lo único que no apruebo del libro en sí, es la relación de dependencia que genera Bella hacía Edward a lo largo de la saga y, lo dañina que puede llegar a ser. Sin embargo éstos libros me traen recuerdos muy bonitos de mi adolescencia y es por ello que siempre tendrán un lugar importante en mi corazón.
Por si me preguntáis, las películas si que me gustan, son entretenidas de ver, no las considero una obra de arte del cine, pero se han visto cosas peores, seamos sinceros. 😂
To be honest, I really like the love story that is born between Bella and Edward, I like much more how the characters are in the book, than in the movies. In case you haven't read it yet, the reality is that Bella is not so cold and inexpressive in the books.
I would say that the only thing I don't approve of in the book itself, is the dependency that Bella generates towards Edward throughout the saga and how damaging it can be. However, these books bring back very nice memories of my adolescence and that is why they will always have an important place in my heart.
In case you ask me, I do like the movies, they are entertaining to watch, I don't consider them a masterpiece of cinema, but worse things have been seen, let's be honest. 😂
