Viuda Negra

Black widow

Not a hair of the head peeking over the green velvet armchair could have fallen off without being considered as a possible distraction that had already been solved. Everything was calculated by her with the precision of a guillotine.
The dagger was warm against his chest, and underneath it lay crouching freedom. It was the best way to jump from the prison of the book's pages to a possible alternative life, better than following the history worn out by use, only interesting for the avidity of a reader whose imagination would build the bridge they had been waiting to cross for some time. The double ruthless review alternated with a thought: women are so perceptive and Machiavellian, they are frightening...
She managed to take possession of the reader's mind and not only knew everything about him and the house but also controlled details such as the dogs, the butler...what would she do with them? If he fails, he didn't know what he would be able to do against him. At times, he felt that he was just a tool to cut the fictional thread for her to reassemble yet another story to her liking. Perhaps, she no longer wants to be a wife or a mistress.
He was wasting precious time in this brainstorming that would not go away.
What if she simply aborted the mission and escaped, taking advantage of the fact that the man was gasping with his eyes closed? He stared at it and it seemed to him like a fly entangled in a spider's web, meekly waiting to be engulfed by a black widow. He blinked and saw himself fluttering, struggling to get out of the fine threads woven by her and her lugubrious role as a lover: "If the man sitting in the armchair does not read, the story does not advance, the murder does not take place and I am trapped in an anecdotal limbo".
He tried to retrace his steps, but he could not, the house was hermetically sealed. Then, he understood that maybe that was her plan all along, to get rid of the men who kidnapped her freedom, making her a slave to a story that is a whirlwind that twists and turns on the same hackneyed plot.
