In my crystal world, full of light and love.
Where the light of the soul lives and reigns. That's where I want to be.
There are worlds so different, unknown perhaps,
where the soul flies and flies and sometimes want to arrive.

I rarely used to leave our village. Being there was like living in paradise. Harmony everywhere. Green plants and wonderful oxygen filled my lungs with life. Nothing like living in that, my crystal world. I called it that because it was so ethereal and special. There was no shouting or violence. We were all respectful and knew how to live together in peace and balance.

That was the legacy of our ancestors, because, beyond material wealth, they taught us that there was an inner world to cultivate and that was framed in values and mainly respect for others. We were all like brothers and sisters without distinction of any kind.

But as in every story, there is always something that alters it and takes it out of its balance. We were forbidden to leave the boundaries of the village, I never knew why. It was a secret well kept by our elders. They said that we should not go out because beyond, there was a different world full of bad things that could harm us and maybe even kill us. That slowed us down and quieted our youthful curiosity as normal as any other.

However, there will always be a break in any frame of perfection. Something that reminds us that life is not perfect. That there are moments, dangers, experiences that remind us that we are human, as fragile as a leaf in the wind. That not everything is so ethereal and sometimes dark things can threaten our peace of mind.

Escalofriantes y agudos. Nos miramos con temor.

¡Dios!¿ porque accedí a venir? Tengo miedo. Una niebla extraña invade el ambiente. Me siento rara.

That day we played as we always do in the afternoons in the playground. We made jokes and wondered what was beyond. Alan was the most reckless and always proposed crazy things like running away to see what was beyond the village.

The natural fear and the instinct of self-preservation of life, made me reflect and desist from accompanying Alan in his madness because, believe me, at some point, my hidden adventurous instinct, wanted to second him and go out to see what would be beyond in that supposedly dark world.

I still remember that afternoon when our perfect world was shattered. Alan revolutionized the group and several decided to accompany him to escape and discover, once and for all, the dark world that was supposed to be beyond. For a moment I hesitated but that adventurous spirit, inherited from my father, made me join the group and escape through that crack in the fence. We evaded the surveillance and there we were in the dark and cold forest.

A shiver invaded my skin as if sensing something bad and even fatal. For an instant, I wanted to go back but it was too late. The darkness and the darkness of having to return alone, made me follow the group. Screams in the distance. Chilling and high-pitched. We looked at each other with fear.

God, why did I agree to come? I am afraid. A strange fog invades the atmosphere. I feel strange. My lungs begin to fail and I'm about to fall into lethargy.

¡Oh, no! Comienzo a llorar.

Solo luz, mucha luz y mucha paz. Cierro los ojos, no recuerdo nada más.

Alan and the others are lying on the floor. Oh no! I touch them and they are as cold as ice. They are dead. I start to cry. We shouldn't have come, I start to run as fast as my legs will carry me. I feel them failing me, I lack the oxygen in my lungs, the one that the plants in my village gave me so many times.Everything is erased from my sight and my mind. I suffocate and fall to the ground.

I only see a beautiful white light that erases the darkness of the forest. There is a hand outstretched waiting for me. Open arms that I know and make me feel at home, just as I felt in my crystal world. It's my father, I smile at him and he speaks to me with his gaze.

I walk towards the light. There is no more fear, nothing bad. Just light, lots of light, and lots of peace. I close my eyes, I don't remember anything else.

That night a group of lost boys was reported in the village. They had run away. Their bodies were lying on the ground. They were found the next morning, except for one girl, Elisa was her name. The search was intense, they could never find her body. But nothing was ever heard of her. Only at night, a figure wrapped in white light, holding the hand of an adult, is seen in the distance walking in the woods.
