Welcome 👁 Reflection Lovers
For this round of the Reflection Hunters Contest i have a huge golden artwork for you to enjoy. I've found it right next to a venue i was working at just a few weeks ago here in my hometown Berlin. The piece is a giant golden clock face by the name "The Golden Hour" and was created by Berlin artist Renate Wolff. It is a two part work and i can show you the publicly observable part on the fire wall of one of the Charité Hospital buildings only, because the second part of it is hidden on the inside of the close by accident & emergency department of the Charité Hospital. Since i was on a job in another building i didn't have the time to figure out a way to get inside for a decent shot, but with a little creativity you can easily imagine how the second part looks like.

The Center of the Golden Hour
First i give you this nice golden reflection overdose close up shot of the center of the public part of the artwork as my contest entry.• • 👁 • •
The Golden Hour
Now we take a step back and have a look at the artwork in it's full golden glory with it's gorgious reflections of the opposite building on a sunny day. The second and hidden part consists of the cut out pieces of this clock face so it's a negative or positve of this piece here, depending on how you want to see it.• • 👁 • •
The Golden Hour Shape
I tried to get a clean shot with just the sky reflected on the piece so i had to get really close to the wall, because the opposite building is pretty huge. I still wasn't close enough to get the building out of the picture, but you get a good view of the actual shape of the piece.• • 👁 • •

The Meaning of the Golden Hour
Until now most of you might just took it for granted that the meaning of the artwork is somehow connected with the times of day we call the golden hours, because of the certain beautiful quality of light at those times most photographers love to shoot at. Sorry to tell you that you're wrong, because there's another golden hour from which this artwork conceives it's meaning and it's not about beauty, it's rather about life and death.Remember what i said about where the two parts of the artwork are located? One is outside of the Charité Hospital and the other is inside it's accident & emergency department. The title of this artwork is referencing a saying of the doctors about the hour in which it is decided if a sick or injured patient survives or dies. So this part of the artwork is the one you see again after leaving the hospital alive. Do you still want to see the other part, the cut out part, of the artwork?
