Buenas tardes amigos, les saludo con respeto y cariño desde Guarenas, Municipio Plaza, Estado Miranda, República Bolivariana de Venezuela. Hoy, primer domingo de Cuaresma 2024, nuevamente visité junto a mi esposa el Templó Católico San Nicolás de Bari, perteneciente a la Diócesis de Guarenas. Asistimos a la celebración eucarística de la 7:00 am, el celebrante, Padre David; sacerdote de la comunidad religiosa palotina, fundada en 1835 por el sacerdote romano Vicente Pallotti, en su sermón, hizo una interesante disertación relacionada a los siete pecados capitales: soberbia, lujuria, avaricia, ira, gula, envidia y pereza. (Nota: Al final de esta publicación dejaré un enlace donde Usted podrá leer una breve reseña histórica de esa comunidad y la historia ampliada del Templo que hoy les presento). Para mi la disertación fue muy interesante porque coincidí con el sacerdote cuando dijo que los pecados capitales eran los demonios que desde tiempos inmemoriales han dominado a la humanidad. Todos, de una u otra manera hemos sucumbido ante uno o varios de esos demonios; por esa razón, hizo un llamado a la feligresía a reflexionar sobre ello y hacer un profundo y sincero examen de conciencia para tratar de vencer esos pecados que nos alejan de Dios. En el tiempo de Cuaresma; además de meditar sobre la pasión, muerte y resurrección de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, es bueno concienciar en la importancia de mejorar como personas, porque nuestro entorno mejorará a medida que mejoremos nosotros, somos los que debemos ser generadores de cambios positivos; para cada pecado capital existe una virtud que debemos trabajar si queremos cosechar buena relación con Dios, con el prójimo y con nosotros mismos: Humildad es la virtud antagónica a la soberbia, la Generosidad, es contraria a la avaricia, la Castidad, opuesta a la lujuria, la Paciencia está reñida con la ira, la Templanza pone en su sitio a la gula, la Caridad, derrota a la envidia y la Diligencia elimina la pereza. Todos los excesos son malos para salud corporal, mental y espiritual de los seres humanos, es por eso que debemos alimentarnos con las virtudes y valores más excelsos; sirva está Cuaresma, para crecer en la fe, practicar la caridad, el amor y la paz. Good afternoon friends, I greet you with respect and affection from Guarenas, Plaza Municipality, Miranda State, Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. Today, the first Sunday of Lent 2024, I once again visited the San Nicolás de Bari Catholic Temple with my wife, belonging to the Diocese of Guarenas. We attended the Eucharistic celebration at 7:00 am, the celebrant, Father David; priest of the Pallotine religious community, founded in 1835 by the Roman priest Vincent Pallotti, in his sermon, he gave an interesting dissertation related to the seven capital sins: pride, lust, avarice, anger, gluttony, envy and sloth. (Note: At the end of this publication I will leave a link where you can read a brief historical review of that community and the expanded history of the Temple that I present to you today). For me the dissertation was very interesting because I agreed with the priest when he said that the capital sins were the demons that have dominated humanity since time immemorial. We have all, in one way or another, succumbed to one or more of these demons; For that reason, he called on the parishioners to reflect on it and to make a deep and sincere examination of conscience to try to overcome those sins that distance us from God. In the season of Lent; In addition to meditating on the passion, death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, it is good to raise awareness of the importance of improving as people, because our environment will improve as we improve, we are the ones who must be generators of positive changes; For each capital sin there is a virtue that we must work on if we want to achieve a good relationship with God, with our neighbors and with ourselves: Humility It is the virtue antagonistic to pride, Generosity is the opposite of greed, Chastity, opposed to lust, Patience is at odds with anger, Temperance puts gluttony in its place, Charity, defeat envy and Diligence eliminates laziness. All excesses are bad for the physical, mental and spiritual health of human beings, which is why we must feed ourselves with the highest virtues and values; Serve this Lent to grow in faith, practice charity, love and peace.
