Evening on the river

Hello, friends!
Today I want to offer you a photograph taken on the day of the celebration of the bicentenary of the proclamation of Minusinsk, my hometown, as a city.

First, a little history...
In 1822, by decree of the Russian Emperor Alexander 1, Siberia was divided into Western and Eastern General Governments. According to the same decree, the Yenisei province was separated from the Tomsk province. Five districts were created in the Yenisei province: western - Achinsky with the center in the city of Achinsk, northern - Yeniseisky, with the center in the city of Yeniseisk, eastern - Kansky, with the center in the city of Kansk, central - Krasnoyarsky with the center in the city of Krasnoyarsk. There were no cities in the south of the Yenisei province, so the largest village in the south of the new province, Minusinsky, was appointed the city and center of the Minusinsk district.

In January 1923, an official from Krasnoyarsk came to the village of Minusinskoye, convened a general meeting, identified available officials to correct city positions, opened government offices (with the exception of the treasury, due to the lack of an official fit for the position) and declared that the village of Minusinskoye would be considered a city from that time on.

At that time, 787 people lived in the newly created city.

On the occasion of the holiday, the historical part of the city was made pedestrian, and historical theatrical performances were performed in parks and squares. In the evening there were festive fireworks.
