a challenge builders in india face when making a concrete slab roof is to keep the cement from drying too fast in the hot 🌞. a common solution is to split the area of the slab into sections by constructing small dam walls with weak concrete (1 part cement to 15 parts sand) about 5 cm high.
the dams are then filled with water, flooding the entire roof area for three weeks. the water evaporates quickly so by filling the dams during the day the workers, the contractor and the owner can 😴 soundly at night.
the builders have thus unintentionally constructed excellent reflection pools.🤩
the only problem is you have to be on or above the roof to appreciate the reflections, so that, and the fact that these structures are only temporary are the main reasons why these pools don't get as much praise and publicity as the reflection pools at the taj mahal.🤣😎
