Usually, Putu Bambu is best eaten at night, and because of that the majority of these traditional snack vendors are always at night. The ingredients of this cake are very simple, namely rice flour, palm sugar, grated coconut and granulated sugar. Rice flour dough that has been given palm sugar in the middle will be put into a cake mold made of bamboo blades. Then, the dough will be steamed until cooked. After that, this traditional snack will be sprinkled with coconut and granulated sugar which makes it taste very savory and delicious. Even though it is considered as Indonesian culinary, I feel that this traditional snack is like getting a touch of foreign culinary culture, especially Chinese culinary. Indonesian culinary traditions are heavily influenced by three culinary cultures, namely Indian culinary, Arabic culinary and Chinese culinary.
