I have the ability to capture train reflections by working in this area, not many people have access to various facilities where these vehicles are parked, either for historical collection, maintenance or because they are out of service.
The surroundings of these facilities are subject to fluids, oils, water, and all these types of materials before they are removed are exactly what I need to capture these types of reflections.
Tengo la posibilidad de capturar reflejos de trenes por trabajar en esta área, no muchas personas tienen el acceso a diversas instalaciones dónde se encuentran estos vehículos estacionados, ya sea por colección histórica, por mantenimiento o por estar fuera de servicio.
Los alrededores de estás instalaciones son objeto de fluidos, aceites, agua, y todos estos tipos de materiales antes de ser removidos son exactamente lo que necesito para captar este tipo de fotografías con reflejos.
These first two pictures were taken during a special work time that I was doing in a workshop outside my usual place of work, it was at night time where we were doing periodic maintenance of the bogies of the trains. The workshop is called Rancagua and it is the place for maintenance of the B line of the Buenos Aires subway.
Éstas primeras dos fotografías fueron tomadas durante un tiempo de trabajo especial que estuve realizando en un taller externo a mi lugar de trabajo habitual, fue en horario nocturno dónde hacíamos mantenimiento periódico de los boggies de los trenes. El taller se llama Rancagua y es el lugar para mantenimientos de la línea B del subterráneo de Buenos Aires.
Here I had the idea of making a somewhat different photograph in terms of composition... I decided that the reflection would be in black and white while the image of the trains are in color. The photo is of an old streetcar parked at the Polvorín workshop, which is used for tourist rides in the Caballito neighborhood. The vehicle dates from about 1950.
Acá tuve la idea de hacer una fotografía algo diferente en cuanto a la composición... decidí que el reflejo estuviese en blanco y negro mientras que la imagen de los trenes están en color. La foto se trata de un antiguo tranvía estacionado en las instalaciones del taller Polvorín, el cual se usa para paseos turísticos dentro del barrio de Caballito. El vehículo es del año 1950 aproximadamente.
On this occasion I was able to capture a greater length of the train formation which is two cars where almost all the space could be reflected. It is a coach house to call it better since only these are kept to go out to their routes the following day. I was also here doing other work at night and I had the chance to capture this image.
En esta ocasión pude captar una mayor longitud de la formación del tren lo cual son dos coches dónde casi todo el espacio pudo ser reflejado. Es una cochera para llamarlo mejor ya que solo se guardan éstos para salir a sus recorridos el día siguiente. También estuve acá realizando otro tipo de trabajos en horario nocturno y tuve la posibilidad de captar está imagen.
For this photo I used darker tones and I noticed that the reflection that was generated was above a yellow safety line which combines with the yellow lines of the same car that was parked. The background tones of the photo are between black and violet. It was taken in the Polvorín workshop.
Para ésta foto use tonos más oscuros y me llamo mucho la atención que el reflejo que se generó fue por encima de una línea amarilla de seguridad el cual hace combinación con las líneas amarillas del mismo coche que estaba estacionado. Los tonos de fondo de la foto se encuentran entre negros y violetas. Fue tomada en el taller Polvorín.
