I took the following photos while I was in Ocean City, Maryland. They were all taken from the condominium balcony where I was staying on the fourteenth floor. This first photo is my entry for the contest! Besides the obvious shadows, there is also a shadow of his hand on the basketball which I thought was cool because the photo shows shadows of the fingers on both of his hands and even a shadow of his shoe lace. Just little details that may sometimes go unnoticed when there is a lot going on.
It just so happened that the basketball court was right below where my husband and I were staying. Luckily, you could not hear it and I just happened to see this young man (teen) out on the court alone shooting hoops while I stood on the balcony and was looking for things to "shoot" as well!
He was out on the court for a while and I knew that he probably was a decent player by seeing how many shots he was making into the hoop and how much time he spent out there.
Most likely, he plays or played on his High School team. That is just an assumption on my part though but I wouldn't be surprised.
My husband and I were at the ocean during Senior Week. Our son just graduated and was down with some friends near where we were staying and it just so happened that we were able to go down the same week. Our son was staying in Delaware and we were just a few miles from the state line in Maryland.
Anyway, my post title could've just been titled "Basketball" but after some time some friends joined the young man and I got photos of them as well. Watching them play, I could tell that he was indeed pretty good at the game.
I'll show those photos in another episode of Shadow Hunters though since I got so many photos of both the young man playing alone and then with his friends.
I didn't get out a whole lot while there but I did take advantage of the balcony and kept an eye open for interesting things to "shoot". Thank goodness these kids, shooting hoops, were not as fast as that darn Osprey that kept flying by. I only say darn because it was pretty cool but darned if I could get a good photo of it ... hoops ... I mean oops! 🤣
