You'll Never Guess What This Reflection Hunter Contest Entry is About

Let's reflect, shall we?

A few weeks ago I made my way over to Shadow Hunters community, ever hear of'em? They're a group of blockchain funambulist's lurking in the shadows.

I know, crazy! There's a word for everything

I was lost over there. Finding my way around in the dark was hopeless like White House security. I do some of my best work in the dark, certainly, but nobody gets a second first impression. Every shadow reminded me of a bad hair day—could hardly wrap my head around it. So I ordered a water with lemon and a California burrito with lime from the bar and you'll never guess who pulled up a chair next to me. @melinda010100.

She was dressed to kill! All decked out in green and gold wearing a limited edition Brett Favre jersey (an authentic one, too, not one of them cheap imitation shits) and matching eye glasses. She lowered them seductively like Sharon Stone in Fatal Attraction with one hand while signaling the bartender with the other. Turning ever so fluidly toward me, she looked over the top of her lowered glasses right through me. She had that intoxicating curation smile Melinda always has, it's addicting, ear to ear happy like Mike McCarthy the day Minnesota's stadium collapsed.

Well this sure is a pleasant surprise. Hi, Pura's husband! You look lost, do you need help?

I get that a lot, "Pura's husband." I'm often told I look lost, too, not sure what that's about but Melinda picked up on it quicker than a pair of Daisy Dukes on a sun soaked shotgun seat, 'do I need help?'

'Yeah, and a lot of it! Thanks for finding me, I've been lookin all over for myself. I got all these shadow photos and I'm a professional messer upper on the first time around-er, mayday!'

I never felt so comfortable. She put me completely at ease, made my first experience an unforgettable one, even drew pictures. And get this! She took me by the hand over to Reflection Hunters, the not so dark side of Shadow Hunters and introduced me to @annephilbrick.

'Thanks, Melinda10101000110100001!' 💖

Reflections aren't as easy to capture as one may think. It's nothing like trying to keep up with tiers, red zones, or country closures, certainly, but difficult none the less. There's more to these reflections than meets and meets the eye. For example, object, you have to have one or they'll never work.

You'll need something reflective too: mirror, glass, water, something that reflects and light. Without light, the reflective object is invisible. Object: mountain, feathered friend, downtown train shadow reflection, etc. and a camera. I used a GoPro Hero 5, linear and wide angle—no filters. Lastly, location: I.C King Park off Alcoa Highway in East Tennessee.

That last one got away

I'm about to do the same. Thanks for keeping an eye on me! And happy one-year anniversary! I'm not comfortable sending Anne and Melinda off unescorted cuz, well, because I'm a fuckin gentleman that's why! It's what we do. I'll be accompanying them on the next downtown train shadow reflection back to their place.
