Lo “scioppetto” di birra

With the term "scioppo" (now obsolete) the Sicilians indicated the bottle cl.33 of beer. In reality it is not a dialect word, but the original word comes from a foreign language (German, French or American "slang") which was then clearly "worsened" by the local pronunciation.

Con il termine “scioppo” (ormai desueto) i siciliani indicavano la bottiglia da cl.33 di birra. In realtà non si tratta di una parola dialettale, ma il vocabolo originale proviene da una lingua straniera (tedesco, francese o “slang” americano) che poi è stato evidentemente “storpiato” dalla pronuncia locale.
