Monumental fountains are often located in the center of many squares or between the avenues of public gardens. The large basins of the fountains are usually filled with water, but it is not allowed to swim in them or to splash the water on people. To prevent children from getting wet, the fountains are surrounded by metal railings and some statuettes that prevent people from getting close to the water.

Al centro di molte piazze o tra i viali dei giardini pubblici si trovano spesso delle fontane monumentali. Le grandi vasche delle fontane sono solitamente piene d’acqua, ma non è consentito nuotarci dentro o schizzare l’acqua addosso alle persone. Per evitare che i bambini si bagnino le fontane sono circondate da ringhiere metalliche e da qualche statuetta che impediscono alla gente di avvicinarsi all’acqua.
