[ENG] Greetings community! Today I am pleased to share a series of photographs taken with the purpose of showing and transmitting the value of this Venezuelan architecture, a pictorial and elegant building, with formal elements inspired by the work of some of the greatest architects.

¡Saludos, comunidad! Hoy me complace compartir una serie de fotografías realizadas con el motivo de mostrar y transmitir el valor de esta arquitectura venezolana, un edificio pictórico y elegante, con elementos formales inspirados en el trabajo de algunos de los más grandes arquitectos.
[ENG] It is located at the end of Boulevard Raúl Leoni, in the sector 'El Cafetal', Baruta Municipality, Caracas, Venezuela. Its construction began around 1990 and the building was inaugurated in 2001.
The architects in charge of this project were Francisco Pimentel, Bernardo Borges and Oscar Capiello. While researching this building, I found it a pleasant surprise to discover that all the architects of that firm graduated from the same place where I study, the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the Central University of Venezuela, two of them in the year 1957 and Oscar Capiello in 1983 (Source 1 and Source 2).
[ESP] Está ubicado al final del Boulevard Raúl Leoni, en el sector El Cafetal, Municipio Baruta, Caracas, Venezuela. Su construcción comenzó cercana al año 1990 y el edificio se inauguró en el año 2001.
Los Arquitectos encargados de este proyecto fueron Francisco Pimentel, Bernardo Borges y Oscar Capiello. Mientras investigaba sobre este edificio, me pareció una agradable sorpresa enterarme de que todos los arquitectos de esa firma se graduaron en el mismo lugar en donde yo estudio, la Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo de la Universidad Central de Venezuela, dos de ellos en el año 1957 y Oscar Capiello en 1983 (Fuente 1 y Fuente 2).
[ENG] In this building we can see some quite clear references, noting that those architects had studied some of the most renowned exemplary architectures. Some years ago in the History of Architecture V class, I was assigned as a study building the 'National Museum of Roman Art' by Rafael Moneo, several elements of that building, so remembered and so appreciated throughout the world, can be identified also in this one, I will share some photos so that you can compare. I want to express that all the photos in this publication have been taken by me except those whose origin or sources are indicated.
[ESP] En este edificio se pueden ver algunas referencias bastantes claras, notándose que aquellos arquitectos habían estudiado algunas de las arquitecturas ejemplares más renombradas. Hace algunos años en la clase de Historia de la Arquitectura V, me asignaron como edificio de estudio el 'Museo Nacional de Arte Romano' de Rafael Moneo, varios elementos de ese edificio, tan recordado y tan apreciado en todo el mundo, se pueden identificar también en este, les compartiré algunas fotos para que puedan comparar. Cabe acotar que todas las fotos de esta publicación las he realizado yo, excepto aquellas cuyo origen o fuentes están indicadas.

[ENG] The natural lighting of the building is excellent, at certain times it allows, in a controlled manner, the incidence of direct sunlight, creating very good effects. It has very good natural ventilation, it is spacious, comfortable and the vegetation was considered an important part of the complex.
[ESP] La iluminación natural del edificio es excelente, a ciertas horas permite, controladamente, la incidencia de la luz directa del sol, creando muy buenos efectos. Tiene muy buena ventilación natural, es amplio, cómodo y se consideró la vegetación como parte importante del conjunto.
[ENG] The decision to place bricks is very successful, beyond the similarity with the Moneo building, the brick as a cladding reflects very well the rays of the sun, which can have a strong impact on the city of Caracas on some days, and in the case of the rain also protects the building very well.
There are some details of the construction of which I would have liked to see the process, such as the lower part of the arches. How to fix bricks to the ceiling without gravity taking them off? I suppose they would have support, like a wooden arch probably supported by scaffolding.
[ESP] La decisión de colocar ladrillos es muy acertada, más allá de la similitud con el edificio de Moneo, el ladrillo como revestimiento refleja muy bien los rayos del sol, que puede incidir fuerte algunos días en la ciudad de Caracas, y en el caso de la lluvia también protege muy bien al edificio.
Hay algunos detalles de la construcción de los cuales me hubieran gustado ver el proceso, como la parte inferior de los arcos ¿Cómo pegar ladrillos al techo sin que la gravedad los despegue? Yo supongo que tendrían un apoyo, como un arco de madera probablemente y sostenido por andamios.
[ENG] In this time of pandemic, people only visit shopping centers for specific errands, so there were not many people in the shopping center, but in regular times this building has much more activity.
[ESP] En esta época de pandemia la gente solo visita los centros comerciales para diligencias puntuales, por lo que no había mucha gente en el centro comercial, pero en tiempos regulares este edificio tiene mucha más actividad.
[ENG] In the following images you can see another element that reminds me of an epic architect, such as Louis Kahn, several of his buildings would have geometric figures on the facades, figures that were not only for an aesthetic purpose, but also for the purpose of being answer and question at the same time, to lead towards the reflection of the tasks of architecture, the nexus between function and form.
[ESP] En las siguientes imágenes se puede ver otro elemento que me hace recordar a un arquitecto épico, como lo es Louis Kahn, varios de sus edificios tendrían figuras geométricas en las fachadas, figuras que no solo estaban con un fin estético, sino con motivo de ser respuesta y pregunta a la vez, para conducir hacia la reflexión de las tareas de la arquitectura, el nexo entre la función y la forma.

[ENG] In this publication I wanted to show the architectural value of another of the best-known buildings in Caracas, I also had the opportunity to write my thoughts about an aspect of architectural creation as a global and human activity, which shares both structural and constructive elements as well as formal and aesthetics, where the work of others is often a guide and inspiration.

[ESP] En esta publicación quería enseñar el valor arquitectónico de otro de los edificios más conocidos de Caracas, además tuve la oportunidad de escribir mis pensamientos acerca de un aspecto de la creación arquitectónica como actividad global y humana, que comparte elementos tanto estructurales y constructivos como formales y estéticos, en donde el trabajo de otros es muchas veces guía e inspiración.
