[ESP] Detalles que se le escapan a los urbanistas y a los paisajistas. / [ENG] Details that escape urban planners and landscapers.

Hoy salí a dar un paseo en bicicleta y observé que algunas aceras de la Urbanización Nueva Casarapa de Guarenas están seriamente afectadas por causa de las raíces de los Árboles que fueron sembrados al momento de construir los primeros edificios de los distintos conjuntos residenciales. Al ver los árboles gigantescos, alineados perfectamente a lo largo de la calle y notar el daño causado a las aceras me imaginé que los urbanistas y paisajistas que diseñaron y ornamentaron el lugar no tomaron en cuenta el ecosistema de la zona y trajeron de otros sitios especies arbóreas que provocaron el daño que se ven en las fotografías. Las raíces de los árboles levantaron las aceras, rompieron el asfalto, fracturaron las calles y dañaron las tuberías de aguas blancas y servidas de algunos edificios. Muchas losas están quebradas y parte del tendido eléctrico también se ve afectado por el frondoso follaje que con frecuencia provoca interrupción de la energía eléctrica por la falta de poda y de mantenimiento.
Today I went for a bike ride and observed that some sidewalks of the Nueva Casarapa de Guarenas Urbanization are seriously affected by the roots of the trees that were planted when building the first buildings of the different residential complexes. Seeing the gigantic trees, lined up perfectly along the street and noticing the damage caused to the sidewalks, I imagined that the urban planners and landscapers who designed and adorned the place did not take into account the ecosystem of the area and brought from other sites tree species that caused the damage seen in the photographs. The roots of the trees lifted the sidewalks, broke the asphalt, fractured the streets and damaged the white water and service pipes of some buildings. Electrical laying is also affected by leafy foliage which often causes a power outage due to lack of pruning and maintenance.

No soy Urbanista, tampoco soy paisajista pero se que lo recomendable en los centros poblados o zonas residenciales es sembrar arbustos de mediano tamaño que sean fáciles de podar, que sus ramas no sean quebradizas, que se adapten al tipo de suelo donde se planten, que sean resistentes a los rigores del clima, que sus raíces sean profundas y poco superficiales, que crezcan de manera vertical sin extenderse demasiado, que no sean especies invasivas, que no despidan malos olores o atraigan insectos o animales peligrosos, que sean coloridos... entre otras recomendaciones. En la actualidad se recomienda sembrar plantas ornamentales y medicinales que contribuyan con la estética y la salud de la población. En los espacios abiertos, donde lo permitan, se pueden sembrar árboles grandes que a futuro no sean perjudiciales. En el caso de los árboles frutales también se deben sembrar en sitios abiertos o en terrenos en los cuales no representen peligro para las personas ni para las viviendas.
I am not an Urbanist, I am not a landscaper either but I know that it is recommended in populated centers or residential areas is to plant medium-sized shrubs that are easy to prune, that their branches are not brittle, that adapt to the type of soil where they are planted, that are resistant to the rigors of the climate, that their roots are deep and shallow , that they grow vertically without spreading too far, other than invasive species, that do not fire bad odors or attract dangerous insects or animals, which are colorful... among other recommendations. It is currently recommended to sow ornamental and medicinal plants that contribute to the aesthetics and health of the population. In open spaces, where permitted, large trees that are not harmful can be planted in the future. In the case of fruit trees they should also be planted on open sites or on land where they pose no danger to people or housing.

En conclusión los árboles grandes, de raíces fuertes y superficiales o muy largas no se deben sembrar muy cerca de la casa para evitar perjudicar a las aceras, muros o pavimentos, daños internos como la red de tuberías de aguas blancas y servidas. Los árboles son nuestros mas fieles amigos pero se debe respetar el espacio de cada especie para poder vivir en paz y armonía con la madre naturaleza. In conclusion large trees, with strong and shallow roots or very long ones should not be planted very close to the house to avoid harming sidewalks, walls or pavements, internal damage such as the network of whitewater pipes and served. Trees are our most faithful friends but the space of each species must be respected in order to live in peace and harmony with Mother Nature.
