Hi Hive Lovers
Porch or hallway are two terms that are often used to refer to a room that is connected from one point to another that is flanked by two walls. The use of a hallway or corridor is actually a stopover access and a liaison between rooms or buildings, as a waiting room and a pathway for people to pass.
What I present here are photos of a hallway that connects two hotel buildings, both of which are exactly the same building, but have changed its function into a relaxing room for visitors while enjoying food menus from the two restaurants located there.
If you have ever visited Kuala Namu International Airport in Sumatra , then you will see two identical buildings that are used as the Wing Hotel and The Crew Hotel. These two hotels are the main stopovers for transiting passengers and flight crew.
You won't be able to see this beautiful architecturally designed lobby if you don't enter the hotel. The courtyard is an open space that connects the two hotel buildings and is often used as a relaxing place by visitors while enjoying the food menu provided by the two restaurants owned by each hotel.
The elongated curtain used for the lounge here is only used half of it, it is too long to reach the ends of the two sides of the spacious building. You can see the quiet part of the lobby without any seats, I didn't even find anyone walking past when these photos were taken. Which is used as a relaxing room with table chairs and various other facilities, only at the front of the building.
The semi-classical architecture of the buildings is the main choice for those who stay, the lobby of the two hotels is deserted because of the cool lobby. The visitors prefer to spend their time here to wait for their flight schedule.
I call it a “porch” based on its function which is also used for relaxing and not only used as a traffic area connecting one room to another. There are also placed various facilities to accommodate various leisure activities, especially table and chair sets.
Changes in function from a hallway to a relaxing space, the more often you find it for various reasons. Utilization of the room to be more multifunctional is the main reason. Naturally, as long as you as visitors feel at home and enjoy it. Also people passing by are not disturbed through it as the basic use of the lobby as access between rooms or between buildings.
