This park is located in the middle of the city, in the municipality of Playa, its main entrance is on the busy 70th Avenue and covers an area of five blocks, is located in an area near the sea, so there is always a very nice breeze, which keeps a refreshing temperature. This is something that is much appreciated in a climate as hot as that of Cuba.
Before describing this beautiful place, I want to refer to the multiple benefits that an ecological park brings to the city and its inhabitants. These parks with their abundant vegetation are ideal to regulate carbon dioxide emissions and help clean the air of pollutants, returning a cleaner and fresher air, which helps regulate high temperatures. In addition, these green spaces have an important role in the recreation and health of people, as they are ideal for outdoor exercise, relax, enjoy a quiet environment away from the noise of the city, and fill us with natural energy which helps to reduce stress levels, this being very beneficial for our mental health.
Every time I visit the Ecological Park, I can experience all these benefits. Since it was built I have been coming here frequently, and I am always very happy and relaxed to walk around the park and enjoy the peace and natural beauty. This is a park designed for the delight of all people, regardless of age. Children and young people love to come here to play and practice sports, or to bring their pets for a walk. In the shade of its leafy trees, families gather to celebrate special occasions, such as anniversaries, birthdays, or simply to enjoy the pleasure of spending an entertaining and quality time, where an improvised table for a game of dominoes is almost never missing (this game is a must when a group of Cubans get together). There are also those who come to enjoy reading a good book or even take advantage of the tranquility of the place to study.
One of the park's most recent attractions is the Canopy, which has been very well received by visitors. In the place we also find several wooden ranches, where different gastronomic products are offered. Here you can enjoy a refreshing drink or delicious Creole food cooked over charcoal. The ranches are rustic structures made entirely of wood, very ventilated where light and natural air are used, as they are open spaces that have no doors or windows. They have large columns that support them and guano roofs, which are made with dry palm leaves, and provide better air circulation inside. Their furnishings are simple and very cozy and are usually in keeping with the surrounding landscape; their tables and chairs are also made of wood. These ranches integrate perfectly with the rustic and natural environment of the park.
In this natural environment we not only enjoy the beauty of the landscape, but also the harmonious sound of nature. At all times you can hear the constant singing of the different species of birds that inhabit this space. It is a very pleasant sound that provokes a feeling of well-being and serenity.
Visiting the Monte Barreto Ecological Park is a unique experience, the harmony and peace of this place makes me always feel different and renewed. This is the perfect place for those who seek to enjoy contact with nature.

Este parque se encuentra en medio de la ciudad, en el Municipio Playa, su entrada principal es por la transitada avenida 70 y abarca una extensi贸n de cinco cuadras, se encuentra en una zona cercana al mar, por lo que siempre se siente una brisa muy agradable, que mantiene una temperatura refrescante. Esto es algo que se agradece mucho en un clima tan caluroso como el de Cuba.
Antes de describir este hermoso lugar, quiero referirme a los m煤ltiples beneficios que trae un parque ecol贸gico para la ciudad y sus habitantes. Estos parques con su abundante vegetaci贸n son ideales para regular las emisiones de di贸xido de carbono y ayudar a limpiar el aire de contaminantes, devolviendo un aire m谩s limpio y fresco, que ayuda a regular las altas temperaturas. Adem谩s, estos espacios verdes tienen una funci贸n importante en la recreaci贸n y la salud de las personas, ya que son ideales para practicar ejercicio al aire libre, relajarse, disfrutar de un ambiente tranquilo lejos del ruido de la ciudad, y llenarnos de energ铆a natural lo que contribuye a disminuir los niveles de estr茅s, siendo esto muy beneficioso para nuestra salud mental.
Cada vez que visito el Parque Ecol贸gico, puedo experimentar todos estos beneficios. Desde que se construy贸 he venido con frecuencia, y siempre me alegra y me relaja mucho recorrer todo su espacio y disfrutar de la paz y la belleza natural. Este es un parque dise帽ado para el deleite de todas las personas, sin importar la edad. A los ni帽os y j贸venes les gusta mucho venir a jugar y practicar deportes, o traer a sus mascotas de paseo. A la sombra de sus frondosos 谩rboles las familias se re煤nen para celebrar ocasiones especiales, como aniversarios, cumplea帽os, o simplemente para disfrutar del placer de pasar un rato entretenido y de calidad, donde casi nunca falta una improvisada mesa para un juego de domin贸 (este juego es imprescindible cuando se re煤ne un grupo de cubanos). Tambi茅n hay quien viene a disfrutar de la lectura de un buen libro o incluso aprovecha la tranquilidad del lugar para poder estudiar.
Una de las atracciones m谩s recientes del parque es el Canopy, que ha sido muy bien recibido por los visitantes. En el lugar tambi茅n encontramos varios ranchones de madera, en los que se ofertan diferentes productos gastron贸micos. Aqu铆 se puede disfrutar de una refrescante bebida o de la rica comida criolla hecha al carb贸n. Los Ranchones son estructuras r煤sticas hechos enteramente de madera, muy ventilados donde se aprovecha la luz y el aire natural, ya que son espacios abiertos que no tienen puertas ni ventanas. Cuentan con grandes columnas que los sostienen y techos de guano, que se fabrican con hojas secas de palma, y propician una mejor circulaci贸n de aire en su interior. Su mobiliario es sencillo y muy acogedor y suele estar acorde con el paisaje que rodea el lugar, sus mesas y sillas tambi茅n son hechas de madera. Estos ranchones se integran a la perfecci贸n con el ambiente rustico y natural del parque.
En este ambiente natural no s贸lo disfrutamos de lo bello del paisaje, sino tambi茅n del armonioso sonido de la naturaleza. En todo momento se escucha el constantemente canto de las diferentes especies de aves que habitan este espacio. Es un sonido muy agradable que provoca una sensaci贸n de bienestar y serenidad.
Visitar el Parque Ecol贸gico Monte Barreto, es una experiencia 煤nica, la armon铆a y la paz de este lugar hacen que siempre me sienta diferente y renovada. Este es el sitio perfecto para los que buscan disfrutar del contacto con la naturaleza.
