Greetings dear friends, I hope you are very well both you and your families, and that you are having a very good Monday, today I want to talk about a place that I have been seeing since my childhood, well known in the city of Maracay, this is La Plaza de Toros Maestranza César Girón, which is a bullfighting arena, but let me tell you a little about when I knew it was.
Before I should clarify that I do not like bullfighting or anything related to it, because it seems to me a rather cruel sport, but that is my point of view. As a child every time I passed by this place I would stare at the statue outside this building which I later learned is called the Girondina, and was made by a Venezuelan bullfighter, after whom this plaza was also named Cesar Giron. But in my innocence as a child, I never imagined that it was one of those places where the famous bullfights took place, for me, it was just a huge and beautiful place.
Saludos queridos amigos, espero que estén muy bien tanto ustedes como sus familiares, y que estén teniendo un muy buen lunes, hoy quiero hablarles de un lugar que llevo viendo desde mi niñez, muy conocido en la ciudad de maracay, se trata de La Plaza de Toros Maestranza César Girón, que es un coso taurino, pero permitanme contarles un poco sobre cuando supe que lo era.
Antes debo aclarar que no me gustan las corridas de toros ni nada relacionado, pues me parece un deporte bastante cruel, pero ese es mi punto de vista. De niña cada que pasaba por este lugar me quedaba mirando la estatua que está fuera de este edificio que luego aprendí que se llama la Girondina, y fue hecho por un torero venezolano, por el que también se le dió nombre a esta plaza Cesar Girón. Pero en mi inocencia de niña, jamas me imaginé que era uno de esos lugares en los que se hacían las famosas corridas de toros, para mí, era solo un lugar enorme y bonito.
I learned when I was older what it was, and I was very shocked, because I did not know that in my country this sport was practiced, and although it is a place where something that I personally do not like is practiced, I can not deny that it is a beautiful building and being so old, it has enough history with it, which is always something that impresses me, because it has been standing for a little over 80 years, and although it is clear that time, as well as the sun and rain were causing it to deteriorate, so it was remodeled some time ago and ended up being as you see it in the photos.
In this place I understand that bullfights still take place, but the truth is I am not sure, what I do know is that being such a large and spacious place it has been used many times for other events, in fact I think it is used more for that than for bullfights. And despite all the details it has, especially in the paint and the floor, this is still a beautiful place, with a style that is not normally seen here in my country.
Aprendí ya de más grande lo que era, y quedé muy impactada, pues no sabía que en mi país se practicara este deporte, y aunque se trata de un sitio en el que se practica algo que personalmente no me gusta, no puedo negar que es un edificio bonito y que al ser tan viejo, tiene bastante historia con el, lo cual siempre es algo que me impresiona, pues tiene en pie un poquito más de 80 años, y aunque claro que el tiempo, así como el sol y la lluvia fueron causando que se deteriorara, así que fue remodelado hace algún tiempo y terminó siendo así como lo ven en las fotos.
En este lugar tengo entendido que todavía se hacen corridas de toros, pero la verdad no estoy segura, lo que sí sé es que al ser un lugar tan grande y espacioso se ha utilizado muchas veces para realizar otros eventos,de hecho creo que se usa más para eso que para las mismas corridas de toros. Y pese a todos los detalles que tiene sobretodo en la pintura y el suelo, este sigue siendo un lugar bonito, con un estilo que no se ve normalmente aquí en mi país.
I don't have pictures of the inside of the place, because it was closed to the public, but I do know that it is a huge place and inside it can fit more than 6 thousand people, so it is super big, its structure is very nice to look at, it was previously yellow, but it was painted in pastel pink and white, giving a delicate and beautiful aspect to this building.
Just like the civil hospital (it seems to me that it was made by the same architect, I heard it somewhere, but I don't remember it well) that I told you about in my previous post, it has that old style with super big and wide doors, plus windows with a very unique and beautiful shape, and figures on the walls that make me very curious how they were made, but that give it a nice touch.
No tengo fotos de la parte interna del lugar, pues estaba cerrado al público, pero si sé que es un lugar enorme y que dentro caben más de 6 mil personas, así que si es super grande, su estructura es a la vista muy bonita, anteriormente era de color amarillo, pero fue pintado de rosa pastel y blanco, dándole un aspecto delicado y bonito a este edificio.
Igual que el hospital civil (me parece que fue hecho por el mismo arquitecto, lo escuché en alguna parte, pero no lo recuerdo bien) del que les hablé en mi publicación anterior, tiene ese estilo antiguo con puertas super grandes y amplias, además de ventanas con una forma bastante única y bonita, y en los muros figuras que me causa mucha curiosidad como fueron hechos, pero que le dan un toque lindo.
It has a circular shape, just like the other bullrings, which according to me looks a little Roman style, but that gives a special touch to the whole area where this building is, which became many years ago in a historical monument of the country and still retains its essence.

Tiene una forma circular, tal y como las demás plazas de toros, que según yo se ve un poco al estilo romano, pero que le da un toque especial a toda la zona en la que está este edificio, el cual se convirtió hace muchos años atrás en un monumento histórico del país y sigue conservando su esencia.
