Greetings architecture + furniture design and how are you all Hiveans friends?.In the last week of May, I just finished an architectural + furniture design project, a pair of main doors for a house which is a door reservation belonging to the local community.

In the era of modern globalization, rural communities in general in terms of door design, they are more interested in simple designs, both for the construction of concrete houses and wooden houses and this is what I noticed when I received door orders from local people and the sizes of the main doors for house construction or we usually call them as two-open doors the used by the local community of course there are different sizes-varying sizes.

And for the order for a pair of main doors of the house the one I just finished this week 120 cm wide and 220 cm tall and this is what the door design images looks like that was brought by the customer.

IMG_20220530_193136.jpg

In the picture of the door design, it can be seen that the door has many bones and has many leaf arrangements, and that pair of doors have different sizes, namely 40cm x 220 cm and 80cm x 220 cm.

For the ordered wood, the customer orders meranti wood which has a characteristic brown color and for sheet board
the leaves of that doors customers order pine wood and usually for this type of order, we call it a semi meranti door order

And I, as a furniture worker, to complete an order for a pair of doors for the construction of a house that belongs to a local resident, today I again share with you how to complete the door from the basic processing stage to finishing and accordance with the drawings provided by the owner of the order.

The machines that I need to complete the project, of course the machines that I usually use are which consists of.

IMG_20220518_115812.jpg

•Shaved machine to flatten the entire surface wood and of the series connection.

•Wood cutting machine to cut all wood materials for door materials.

•Router machine(for making flowers on the inside corners of doors and making leaf holder holes of doors).

•Wood drill sits to drill frame connection peg mount holes.

•Hand drill(to make holes in the wood when installing the pegs) and sit drill(to make holes in the bulkhead of the top and bottom of the dors).

•Panel machine (to make nipple pegs on frame sets) and for door leaf flower panels and.

•Manual iron press to the door series during the process of installing the pegs.

•Meter , hammer and elbow.

• And door surface sanding machine.

After the machine tools I need are complete, then the main material I need is wood consisting of 4 different sizes as a set of materials.

•Meranti wood that has been trimmed ....for the main frame, the left and right of the post and the upper bulkhead, the width of the door which is the main series measuring wide 10.5cm X 3.5 cm thick .

•we usually use wood with a width of 16cm x 3.5 thickness, and

•The middle door series bulkhead in the form of window material with a size of 6 cm x 3,5cm is the main binding frame material for the doors and this is a measure of the basic material for window sets that we often use in every project and

*• A board that has a width of 25 cm x a thickness of 2.5 cm as the main material for the door leaf.

IMG_20220530_205249.jpg

And after all the materials have been collected and the main ingredients have been prepared through the processing of a combination crab machine, for the first stage I prepared the main pillars of the left and right door frames of the two doors, after I smoothed it, I continued to outline the layout of the door width frame bulkhead for the process of drilling the frame connection dowel bulkheads and after that I continued the drilling process to the 4 main pillars of the door frame (a pair) by using a seated drill machine with a large size and a depth of 4cm x 1.5cm and the length and width of the drilling of the peg holder on the main pillar bulkhead is of course different between the upper, middle and lower bulkheads of the door.

Picsart_22-05-30_21-12-15-369.jpg

And after the drilling is complete, then I prepare a series of door width and width limiters for the pair of doors, of course, they are quite different and we can see in the design drawings provided by the customer.

IMG_20220530_193136.jpg

In the picture, you can see the right door measuring 80cm x 220 cm and the left door measuring 40cm x 220 cm and the length of the door frame is of course also different, which is also followed by different bulkhead sizes (top, middle, bottom).

So,for wood, the door width of 80 cm x 220 cm is.

• 1 bulkhead measuring 16 cm wide x 3.5 cm thick, 67 cm long and 4 cm left and right as a connecting peg for the left and right frames.

•2 bulkheads measuring 6 cm wide x 3.5 cm thick and 67 cm long (central bulkhead of the base of the frame) which also consists of 4 cm left and right of the nipple of the frame connection pegs.

+1 middle bulkhead extending upwards measuring 6 cm wide x 3.5 cm thick and 152 cm long consisting of the top and bottom retaining nipples of the 3 cm bulkhead.

+6 bulkheads in the frame measuring 6 cm wide x 3.5 cm thick and 55 cm long consisting of left and right 4 cm nipples and

•1 bulkhead for -sized door top bulkhead 10,5cm x 3.5cm long 67cm consisting of 4cm left and right nipples.

And for the door width measuring 40cm wide x 220 cm high is..

*•1 wooden partition measuring 10.5 cm wide x 3.5 cm thick and 27 cm long consisting of 4 cm left and right as connection nipples. *

*•8 wooden partition measuring 6 cm wide x 3.5 cm thick and 27 cm long consisting of 4 cm left and right as connection nipples and. *

*•1 wooden partition measuring 16 cm wide x 3.5 cm thick and 27 cm long consisting of 4 cm left and right as connection nipples. *

After all the materials for the door bulkhead I cut using a wood cutting machine, then I continued the process of making the peg holder nipple the you can see some in pictures during the preparation process, until the process of unification of the circuit after the process of making the peg nipple is complete.

1653922784468.jpg

1653922775891.jpg

And the process of making the nipple connection pegs for the doors I did using a seated panel machine.

1653922797955.jpg

1653922839866.jpg

1653922766230.jpg

1653923001974.jpg

1653923008480.jpg

1653922817580.jpg

After the process of making the door pegs for the door width bulkhead connection is complete, now I continue the process of uniting the entire series.

1653922882980.jpg

1653922878825.jpg

1653922876000.jpg

1653922868759.jpg

1653922863978.jpg

And after I finished, I put together all the bulkheads for connecting the two doors, this is how the two doors look, measuring 80/40cm wide x 220/220cm high.

1653923962979.jpg

1653923975535.jpg

Then now I continue to smooth the surface of the frame bulkhead connection to that two doors using a mini shaved machine and after I finished tidying it up, this is what a pair of doors looks like.

1653924669145.jpg

1653924695239.jpg

1653924677245.jpg

And after the process of tidying up the bulkhead connection of the frame, now I continue the process of giving flowers to the inner door frame in the front and rear door frames using a router machine and I also continued the process of making a leaf retaining holder (hole) on the inside of the door bulkhead which also uses a router machine and after the manufacturing process is complete, this is what the door looks like.

1653925418794.jpg

1653925421392.jpg

1653925427508.jpg

1653923942734.jpg

1653923942774.jpg

And I have finished preparing the door frame, now I continue the process of preparing the sheet for the door pair which is made from pine boards with a width of 20cm x 2.5cm thick.

The two doors have different leaf lengths and the leaf size of the doors is classified as the same and for door leaf measuring 40cm x 220 cm width is.

• 9 leaf units measuring 21 cm x 20 cm and 1 cm circumference as leaf retaining pegs.

And for the door leaf measuring 80cm x 220 cm is.

*• 2 leaves measuring 61 cm x 20 cm long and about 1 cm for the pegs around . *

•7 boards 51 cm long x 20 cm wide and 1 cm leaf retaining pegs all around and

•1 plank measuring 144 cm long x 14 cm wide and 1cm leaf retaining pegs.

1653926067930.jpg

1653926040253.jpg

1653926043054.jpg

And after the process of making the door leaf panel is completed using a panel machine.

Now I continue the process of installing the door leaf boards that I have paneled and to install the door leaf sheets with a sequential planting system of course I have to disassemble the entire assembly and the manufacturing process like this.

1653927794552.jpg

1653927794516.jpg

1653927794472.jpg

Then, after the process of installing the leaf boards is complete, now I continue the process of pressing and locking the connection of the door series bulkheads.

And in the pressing process, I used a drill to make a hole in the 1cm x 1cm peg holder and this is how the process of locking the pegs I did.

1653928300310.jpg

1653928215649.jpg

And the last is the finishing stage, which is the process of sanding the entire front and back surfaces of the doors until they are completely smooth and the order for the main door to open two for the construction of a house owned by a local resident with a width of 120cm x 220cm I have finished working on with image design.

IMG_20220530_193136.jpg

This is how the finishing result for the door of the order corresponds to the image provided by the customer.

1653928985658.jpg

1653928989093.jpg

1653928991713.jpg

The door will be installed simultaneously and for the layout of the door at the time of installation, of course, you can change the left of the small door and the right of the big door or vice versa and this is what the door looks like after it is installed on the door of the house.
