No es el único post que habré escrito de este lugar o desde este lugar, ya que aquí he leído y escrito delante de sus chimeneas en invierno o en sus diferentes terrazas en verano. Pero esta vez es diferente. Hace poco sus dueños han decidido cerrar este icónico negocio debido a la crisis provocada por la pandemia y antes de que se pierda os lo quiero enseñar.
This is not the only post I have written about this place or from this place, as I have read and written here in front of its fireplaces in winter or on its different terraces in summer. But this time it is different. Recently its owners have decided to close this iconic business due to the crisis caused by the pandemic and before it is lost I want to show it to you.
Esta casa de comidas y hotel con una construcción que tiene cientos de años, cierra al no poder mantener los sueldos, impuestos, proveedores y demás gastos que hay que pagar para poder seguir abiertos. Han intentado mantenerse con las mesas justas para respetar la distancia mínima y cocinando comida para llevar pero no ha sido suficiente.
This restaurant and hotel with a construction that is hundreds of years old, is closing because it is unable to keep up with the salaries, taxes, suppliers and other expenses that have to be paid in order to stay open. They have tried to stay with just enough tables to respect the minimum distance and cooking take-away food, but it has not been enough.
A este maravilloso lugar hemos estado comiendo desde antes que nuestra hija naciera, y después no han pasado dos meses sin venir a disfrutar de su menú gastronómico y echar la tarde con sus cócteles y su buena música.
We have been eating at this wonderful place since before our daughter was born, and after that not two months have gone by without coming here to enjoy their gastronomic menu and spend the evening with their cocktails and good music.
El Restaurante Anón cuenta con muchas estancias. Varios salones que dan la sensación de estar en el comedor de tu abuela, con diferentes chimeneas y en la parte superior está el bar. Un lugar especial con una decoración distinta a cualquier lugar que haya visto.
The Anon Restaurant has many rooms. Several lounges that give the feeling of being in your grandmother's dining room with different fireplaces and at the top is the bar. A special place with a decoration unlike any place you have ever seen.
El restaurante está en el pueblo de Jimena de la Frontera, Cádiz, España. Un pueblo tranquilo soleado pero en invierno las temperaturas bajan y hace mucho frío. La casa donde está el Anón tiene cientos de años y sus muros son muy anchos pero sin un buen hogar no se podría comer a gusto. En cada salón hay una chimenea que crea un buen ambiente.
The restaurant is in the village of Jimena de la Frontera, Cadiz, Spain. A quiet sunny village but in winter the temperatures drop and it gets very cold. The house where the Anón is located is hundreds of years old and the walls are very wide but without a good fireplace you would not be able to eat comfortably. In every living room there is a fireplace which creates a good atmosphere.
Jimena es un pueblo blanco andaluz situado en lo alto de un monte ya que sus orígenes fueron un castillo romano que buscaban lugares elevados que ayudaba a una mejor protección. Sus calles con una elevada pendiente no ayudan a pasear pero sus vistas desde lo alto premia el esfuerzo.
Jimena is a white Andalusian village situated on the top of a hill as its origins were a Roman castle that sought higher ground for better protection. Its steeply sloping streets do not make for easy strolling but the views from the top are worth the effort.
Tienen una fotografía en blanco y negro con unos pocos de años colgada con la que podemos comparar la misma calle del restaurante. La diferencia, los vehículos que afean el pueblo.
They have a black and white photograph hung a few years ago with which we can compare the same street as the restaurant. The difference is the vehicles that spoil the village.
Al fondo se puede observar el peñón de Gibraltar.
In the background you can see the rock of Gibraltar.
El menú del restaurante es una mezcla de sabores del Mediterráneo. Platos muy andaluces como el Gazpacho. Sus ingredientes son tomate, pepino, aceite de oliva, ajo y pan.
The restaurant's menu is a mix of Mediterranean flavours. Very Andalusian dishes such as Gazpacho. Its ingredients are tomato, cucumber, olive oil, garlic and bread.
Pasando por la cocina italiana, griega o marroquí. Este entrante son una berenjenas italianas gratinadas con queso parmesano, mozzarella, salsa de tomate y albahaca. El pan es hecho por ellos.
Italian, Greek or Moroccan cuisine. This starter is an Italian aubergine au gratin with parmesan cheese, mozzarella, tomato sauce and basil. The bread is made by them.
Como plato principal he elegido para el post el solomillo ibérico al Pedro Ximenez y castañas.
For the main course I have chosen for the post the Iberian sirloin with Pedro Ximenez and chestnuts.
De postre para esta ocasión un brownie con helado de vainilla.
For dessert for this occasion a brownie with vanilla ice cream.
El restaurante cuenta con multitud de patios interiores donde hay árboles frutales. El más grande es un chirimoyo y de aquí viene el nombre de este negocio. Anón, (Annona en latín).
The restaurant has many interior patios with fruit trees. The largest is a custard apple tree and this is where the name of this business comes from. Anon, (Annona in Latin).
