INFRAESTRUCTURA Y DISEÑO INTERIOR DE UN CENTRO DE SALUD
Hello friends of this prestigious Architecture+Design community. These last few days have been very hectic for me. My mother has needed to have several medical exams to take them to the doctor. That is why I have visited some health centers in my city. I want to show you on this occasion an infrastructure that serves as a private health center. It is one of the popular clinics closest to my home. For many years we have attended the consultations and other medical services it offers. I invite you to read and enjoy the pictures.
Hola amigos de esta prestigiosa comunidad Arquitectura+Diseño. Estos días han sido de mucho agite para mí. Mi madre ha necesitado realizarse diversos exámenes médicos para llevarlos al doctor. Es por eso que he visitado algunos centros de salud de mi ciudad. Quiero mostrarles en esta ocasión una infraestructura que funge como centro privado de salud. Es una de las clínicas populares más cercanas a mi domicilio. Desde hace muchos años hemos asistido a las consultas y otros servicios médicos que ofrece. Te invito a leer y a disfrutar de las fotografías.
To get to the clinic I only took a bus from the bus stop very close to my house. The travel time by bus or public transportation was approximately 11 minutes. When we arrived we crossed a street and walked a few meters to the entrance.
Para llegar hasta la clínica solo tomé una unidad de transporte desde la parada muy cerca de mi casa. El tiempo de recorrido en bus o unidad colectiva de transporte público fue de 11 minutos aproximadamente. Al llegar cruzamos una calle y caminamos algunos metros hasta la entrada.
Although I don't remember it in detail, this clinic was a villa-type house that was adapted for medical care. Its facade was totally different and less luxurious. Unfortunately I never took a picture.
Aunque no lo recuerdo con detalles, esta clínica era una casa tipo quinta que se adecuó para la atención médica. Su fachada era totalmente diferente y menos lujosa. Lamentablemente nunca tomé fotografía.
It is located on Bicentenario Avenue in the city of Maturin, Monagas State, Venezuela. In front you can see the green areas of a public educational institution. On the right side is one of these old quintas and it functions as a hotel.
Está ubicada en la avenida Bicentenario de la ciudad de Maturín, Estado Monagas-Venezuela. Al frente pueden verse las áreas verdes de una institución educativa pública. Al lado derecho está una de estas quintas viejas y funciona como hotel.
It is said that this is a dangerous and unsafe street, I stealthily took out my trusty Nokia1 phone to take this picture taking advantage of the fact that it was early and there were few people. I was already very close to the entrance.
Se dice que esta es una calle peligrosa e insegura, sigilosamente saqué mi teléfono fiel Nokia1 para tomarme esta foto aprovechando que era temprano y había poca gente. Ya me encontraba muy cerca de la entrada.
I love this new facade of the clinic. Simple and striking. Actually I really like buildings with large glass windows. At the entrance you can see two pillars painted in blue and the walls in gray. The exterior doors and windows have aluminum frames also in white and glass.
Me encanta esta nueva fachada de la clínica. Sencilla y llamativa. En realidad me gustan mucho las edificaciones de grandes ventanales de vidrio. En la entrada se pueden ver dos pilares pintados en color azul y las paredes en color gris. Las puertas y ventanas exteriores tienen marco de aluminio también en color blanco y vidrio.
It is a two-story house. There are only stairs to go upstairs. It has a cafeteria, which was closed, and a large parking lot. As you can see it is a small structure and due to the Coronavirus and shortage of chairs some of the patients had to wait outside.
Es una casa de dos plantas. Para subir solo hay escaleras. Cuenta con un cafetín, que estaba cerrado y un amplio estacionamiento. Como pueden apreciar es una estructura pequeña y por motivos del Coronavirus y escasez de sillas algunos de los pacientes debimos esperar afuera.
We were attended by this young man who kindly gave us a quote for the tests we would be doing on my mom. In total it was $14.00. It included complete hematology. Urine. Glycemia. Uric acid. Urea. Creatinine. Cholesterol and triglycerides.
Fuimos atendidas por este joven quien amablemente nos dió el presupuesto de los exámenes que haríamos a mi mamá. En total fueron 14$. Incluye hematología completa. Orina. Glicemia. Ácido úrico. Urea. Creatinina. Colesterol y triglicéridos.
While we were waiting to be seen, I visited the surroundings and the upper floor. I also took the opportunity to ask for prices for cardiology, internal medicine and dentistry consultations. To enter I was met with a grille door and I was delighted to see this 👇.
Mientras esperábamos ser atendidas visité los alrededores y planta superior. Aproveché también de solicitar los precios de las consultas de cardiología, medicina interna y odontología. Para entrar me encontré con un puerta de reja y me encantó ver esto 👇
It is a bugle located after the staircase to reach the second floor. Christian music could be heard that pleasantly set the whole place in a pleasant atmosphere. I have not told you that the clinic is called Fundación Clínica Adventista. I am not going to talk to you about the specific religion, but I want to tell you what I perceive every time I go there. The attention is excellent. The permanent presence of its owner allows the good functioning of the services. Every morning when the doors open and the first patients are received, the pastor (owner) reads some biblical words and interprets them for all of us. It is a moment of silence and reflection.
I suppose that at the moment of designing this new structure they thought about the well being of the visitors, the relaxation and the health of those who work there.
Es una corneta situada después de la escalera para llegar a la segunda planta. Se oía una música cristiana que ambientaba gratamente todo el lugar. No les he dicho que la clínica se llama Fundación Clínica Adventista. Sobre la religión en específico no voy a conversarles, sin embargo quiero transmitirles lo que percibo siempre que voy. La atención es excelente. La presencia permanente de su dueño permite el buen funcionamiento de los servicios. Todas las mañanas al abrir sus puertas y recibir a los primeros pacientes el pastor (dueño) lee unas palabras bíblicas y las interpreta para todos nosotros. Es un momento de silencio y reflexión.
Supongo que al momento de diseñar esta nueva estructura pensaron en el bienestar de los visitantes, el relax y la salud de quienes allí laboran.
Entering we can appreciate part of the furniture and design details in the shape of a recumbent L. The walls are covered with very clean and bright tiles. On the coffee tables there are health magazines and biblical tracts.
Entrando podemos apreciar parte de la mueblería y detalles de diseño en forma de L acostada. Las paredes están cubiertas de baldosas muy limpias y brillantes. En la decoración prevalece la madera y el vidrio. Es un espacio precioso, adornado con floreros y cuadros. Sobre las mesitas hay revistas de salud y folletos bíblicos.
In spite of being a clinic with little space, everything is in perfect harmony. The semi-leather furniture adds a touch of elegance and comfort.
A pesar de ser una clínica de poco espacio todo está en perfectas armonía. Los muebles de semicuero le dan el toque de elegancia y confort.
Plastic chairs for indoor use are located in the waiting room for consultations. Aluminum legs and plastic body. They look very nice. There were no patients yet on this floor and the cleaner was cleaning.
En la sala de espera para las consultas están ubicadas las sillas plásticas para interiores. Patas de aluminio y cuerpo de plástico. Lucen muy bien. No había pacientes todavía en este piso y la aseadora estaba limpiando.
All office doors and windows on this floor are made of wood. This clinic has the necessary equipment to evaluate and examine patients. The pediatric office is located in this room.
If you can notice at the end of the hallway there is a water filter dispenser. I think it is a very good idea to have it. In this health institution they perform ultrasounds, in some of them the patient must consume a lot of water beforehand. The clinic offers "free" water.
A lady asked the pastor for some water from the one she was carrying in her bottles, he tells her that upstairs on the other floor is the filter and that she can fill up there. The lady insists that he give her just a little and the pastor smilingly tells her "it's $2.00". He then made a comment about the importance of good humor and always giving a smile.
I thought about it and deduced that this water is not free since all these benefits are included in every billing that the clinic does.
Todas las puertas y ventanas de los consultorios en este piso son de madera. Esta clínica cuenta con los equipos necesarios para evaluar y examinar a los pacientes. En esta habitación funciona la consulta pediátrica.
Si pueden notar al final del pasillo hay un filtro dispensador de agua. Me parece muy acertado tenerlo. En esta institución de salud realizan ecografías, en algunos de ellos el paciente debe consumir mucha agua previamente. La clínica ofrece el agua "gratis".
Una señora le pidió al pastor un poco de agua de la que llevaba en sus botellas, él le dice que arriba en el otro piso está el filtro y que puede llenar allí. La señora le insiste en que le dé solo un poco y el pastor sonriendo le dice "son 2$". Después hizo un comentario sobre la importancia del buen humor y de regalar siempre una sonrisa.
Yo me quedé pensativa y deduje que esa agua no es gratis ya que en cada facturación que la clínica hace están incluídos todos estos beneficios.
One of the dental assistants informed me about the prices of the dental service; consultation only would be $10. The dental cleaning is $15. If an extraction or root canal is needed the costs vary and range from $20 to $60. They now offer dentures, but those prices were not available.
Una de las asistentes de odontología me informó sobre los precios del servicio de odontología; solo consulta serían 10$. La limpieza dental 15$. Si es necesaria una extracción o tratamiento de conducto los costos varían y oscilan entre 20 y 60$. Ahora ofrecen prótesis dentales, pero esos precios no estaban disponibles.

I finished my visit to the second floor and went downstairs to join my mom and sister in the other waiting room, on the outside of the clinic. Here there is another group of heavier chairs, I couldn't make out what material they are made of, maybe metal? They are lead gray and the model is similar to the Rewind.

In this part of the clinic the atmosphere is also cozy. Patients are silent or talk quietly. They can notice much of the wood in the design.
En esta parte de la clínica el ambiente también es acogedor. Los pacientes hacen silencio o hablan en voz baja. Pueden notar gran parte de la madera en el diseño.
The lighting is good. It also has a bathroom for men and women. In one of the corridors there is comfortable velvety fabric furniture.
La iluminación es buena. También cuenta con sala de baño para caballeros y damas. En uno de los pasillos están ubicados unos muebles de tela aterciopelada bastante cómodos.
I couldn't stop myself from going into the bathroom. It is very important to me that in these centers the cleanliness and hygiene of the restrooms is taken care of. Let me show you the pictures I was able to take.

Nice, isn't it? It looks like a little house from a movie. One of those we see on TV or in the movies. It arouses my curiosity since for that part of the clinic there should be the X-ray, physiatry and imaging offices. Inside there could be the equipment for X-rays and bone desyntometry. Maybe soon they will turn this part into a special annex for this type of evaluations and therapies.
¿Lindo cierto? Parece una casita de película. De esas que vemos por la televisión o el cine. Despierta mi curiosidad ya que para esa parte de la clínica deben estar los consultorios de rayosx, fisiatría e imágenes. Allí dentro podrían estar los equipos para hacer placas y desintometría ósea. Quizá pronto convertirán esta parte en un anexo especial para este tipo de evaluaciones y hacer las terapias.
This is the end of my tour of the Adventist clinic. A building in which straight lines and circular pillars stand out. Materials; concrete, tiles, glass, aluminum and wood. I love the windows, although I am a little worried that there is so much glass in this house, even though we are not at risk of a permanent earthquake in Maturin, it shakes every day. You never know when a high intensity one could happen and this glass shatters causing injuries to people.
The owners and administrators of this building have put a lot of love and dedication to their company, note that although the consultations and examinations are offered at a lower cost than the general average, they have been able to achieve significant changes to provide better service and increase care to more patients.

Aquí termina mi recorrido por la clínica adventista. Edificación en la que destacan las líneas rectas, pilares circulares. Materiales; concreto, baldosas, vidrio, aluminio y madera. Adoro los ventanales, aunque me da un poco de preocupación que haya tanto vidrio en esta casa, a pesar de que no estamos en riesgo de sismo permanente en Maturín tiembla todos los días. Nunca se sabe cuándo podría suceder uno de alta intensidad y estos vidrios se vuelven añicos ocasionando heridas a las personas.
Los propietarios y administradores de esta edificación le han puesto mucho cariño y dedicación a su empresa, fíjense que a pesar de que las consultas y exámenes en su mayoría se ofrecen a un menor costo que el promedio general, ellos han podido lograr cambios significativos para brindar un mejor servicio y aumentar la atención a más pacientes.
