Greetings friends! Today I'm here to show you one of the architectural jewels of the city of San Cristobal, capital of the state of Tachira in Venezuela, the Iglesia Coromoto that shows us a set of contemporary styles.
This church caught my attention and I wanted to share a little about it since my mother, when I was in school, did a work in the area of art where she highlighted those architectural details that make this church so peculiar. The surprising thing for me was to pass in front of the structure after 7 years and see that they keep it intact, with a fresh touch on the outside and inside everything very well preserved.
In the facade of the church we can see some arches with columns, all this part of the facade is covered with fine gray stone, this material has not only made the facade of the temple look very elegant, it has also managed to save on repair and restoration.
This church has a single nave whose height would be that of 2 floors. In the internal part of what would be the upper floor, we see huge stained glass windows depicting the Stations of the Cross.
The altar, adorned with sculptures representing the deities of this church and on the opposite side, that is, just above the arch of the door, we find a balcony with the stained glass window in the background of the facade, which with the afternoon light makes the interior illumination colorful.
The huge antique chandeliers hang from the top of the nave. And the restored carved wooden doors painted in black give a special touch to the structure.
The large corner parking lot in front of the church gives an air of spaciousness to the front of the church. On the left side, we can see the parish house where it serves as a residence and for some events such as meetings.
The side of the church occupies the entire block. Polished granite floor and grilles inside to delimit some spaces, which I think are ornamental because I do not see the need to make a whole fence to protect a plaster sculpture, but still gives a nice touch.
It was the first time I visited the inside of this church. Years ago I took some math classes at a training center a few streets away from the church. I remember my mother waiting for me at the church as I was leaving class in the afternoon. I enjoyed visiting the place and knowing that it has been around so long, according to my mother it looks exactly the same as she remembers it from her school work over 40 years ago.

Un conjunto de estilos arquitectónicos
Saludos amigos! Hoy paso por aquí para enseñarles una de las joyas arquitectónicas de la ciudad de San Cristóbal, capital del estado Táchira de Venezuela, les ha lo de la Iglesia Coromoto que nos muestra un conjunto de estilos contemporaneos.
Me llamó la atención esta iglesia y quise compartí un poco sobre ella ya que mi madre cuando estaba en el colegio, hizo un trabajo del área de artística dónde resaltó esos detalles arquitectónicos que hacen tan peculiar a esta iglesia. Lo sorprendente para mí, fue pasar frente la estructura después de 7 años y ver que la mantienen intacta, con un retoque fresco en el exterior y en el interior todo muy bien conservado.
En la fachada de la iglesia podemos observar unos arcos con columnas, toda esta parte de la fachada está recubierta con piedrilla fina de color gris, este material ha hecho que no solamente se vea muy elegante la fachada del templo, también ha logrado ahorrar en reparación y restauración.
Esta iglesia tiene una sola nave cuya altura sería la de 2 plantas. En la parte interna de lo que sería la planta alta, vemos enormes vitrales que representan el viacrucis.
El altar, adornado por esculturas representativas de las deidades de esta iglesia y en el opuesto, es decir justo sobre el arco de la puerta, encontramos un balcón con el vitral de fondo de la fachada, que con la luz de la tarde hace que la iluminación del interior sea colorida.
Los enormes candelabros antiguos cuelgan desde lo más alto de la nave. Y las puertas de madera tallada restauradas y pintadas en color negro le dan un toque especial a la estructura.
El amplio estacionamiento que hace esquina frente a la iglesia le da un aire de espacioso al frente de la iglesia. Del lado izquierdo, podemos observar la casa parroquial dónde sirve de residencia y para algunos eventos como reuniones.
El lateral de la iglesia ocupa toda la manzana. Piso de granito pulido y rejas en su interior para delimitar algunos espacios, de los que pienso que son ornamentales ya que no veo la necesidad de hacer toda una reja para resguardar una escultura de yeso, pero aún así le da un toque bonito.
Fue la primera vez que visité el interior de esta iglesia. Años atrás tomé algunas clases de matemáticas en un centro de capacitación a unas calles de la iglesia. Recuerdo que mi madre me esperaba en la iglesia mientras salía de clase por la tarde. Me gustó visitar el lugar y saber que tiene tanto tiempo en la ciudad, según mi madre se ve exactamente igual que como ella lo recuerda en su trabajo escolar hace más de 40 años.
