TO NEW BEGINNINGS

Greetings Hive!

The Architecture+Design Community on the Hive social blockchain is celebrating its first annual anniversary this month of October. And what a joyous occasion it is! Although the journey was not perfect, the past year was a thrilling ride as it was filled with a diverse mix of events. Aside from the recent change in our community's leadership structure, our beloved tribe has remained standing, despite the odds, plus has continued to experience exponential growth. Our subscriber list has also been steadily increasing - thanks a lot to your overwhelming support!

Our uninterrupted progress is truly an obvious sign that more and more people are passionately interested in the fields of architecture and design. And there's nothing equally powerful when supporters, enthusiasts, and believers bond together to build a solid community. We trust that it's this driving force that fuels individuals to initiate connections, spark conversations, and embrace significant relationships with others who share the same values.

CCC 02.jpg

It's with immense pleasure that we warmly welcome all our community subscribers, patrons, content creators, and authors to the Architecture+Design Community! Before we move along with the remainder of this special publication, first things first. Behind every tremendous accomplishment is a mighty mission - the "sticky glue" that binds us all through ups and downs.

THE FOUNDATION: OUR BIG WHY

Therefore, in the loving spirit of camaraderie, transparency, and sincerity, we gladly present to you our community's vision.

CCC 03.jpg

We invite you to be one with our main cause:

  • To empower authors who are passionate about architecture and design with the freedom to express their unique voices by unleashing their creative potential, by sharing their talents, gifts, and skills, plus by providing a dedicated channel where they can become the best versions of themselves.

  • To provide excellent possibilities for authors of architecture and design to fully experience significance, joyfulness, fulfillment, and to leave an outstanding legacy behind for future generations to enjoy.

We absolutely care about your journey, welfare, and experience in our community. And as much as we'd love to see you flourish in your specific personal endeavors, business pursuits, and professional careers, we've provided systematic guidelines for you to follow in order to smoothen your voyage here. Consider these detailed rules as your useful road map to avoid unnecessary confusion later on.

CORE TOPIC CATEGORIES

Because the Architecture+Design Community consists of several broad subjects, we've deliberately streamlined the particular niches of interest that authors must focus on. However, these fields are not fixed in stone due to the constant evolution our world is going through today. Thus, there might be changes implemented to this collection depending on future content that best suits us.

CCC 04.jpg

For now, our official list includes FIVE (5) major categories namely:

1. Architecture
2. Interior Design
3. Furniture Design

PREFERRED MINIMUM STANDARD FOR CONTENT

Because we're only mere mortals, it's absolutely impossible to achieve perfection at our level! And as much as we wanted to be free from flaws, it's certainly not achievable. The same holds true in the world of digital media! That's the reality so, let's face it!

CCC 10.jpg

On the other hand, despite being imperfect, we can possibly achieve outstanding works with the different types of architecture and design content we produce and deliver here. Let the following standard criteria be your useful framework for the quality of digital content we're encouraging everyone to create and publish on the Architecture+Design Community.

Written Publications

For the sake of maintaining consistency with our community content standards, and as added incentives for our active authors who wish to gain bigger points, upvotes, reblogs, and nominations, we'd highly encourage you to create and publish blog posts, articles, etc. following our PREFERRED MINIMUM STANDARD of 500 WORDS for English language content or 1,000 WORDS for bilingual content (posts in a different language with the provided English translation) for our long-term benefits.

Photos and Images

A publication is never complete without its visual appeal. It's for this reason that photos, visuals, and images are extremely important in giving more life to written content. We have no problem with visual elements collected from other websites and online sources as long as their references are properly indicated on your digital content like links, watermarks, and other types of respective attributions.

On the other hand, we would prefer experiencing, as much as possible, photos, visuals, and images that are legally owned by our publishing authors. To earn more favorable ratings, we definitely recommend the use of Original Photography to increase your chances of being considered quality content.

Videos and Slideshows

Videos are now one of the hottest and most popular tools of digital media. In fact, some content creators on the Hive prefer this vital format because its content is easier to digest and consume. If you're publishing videos and slideshows in our community, please include their corresponding written information or stories to make them more attractive to readers.

Podcasts and Audio Files

Moreover, some digital consumers do not have the extra time to read posts or watch videos. Thus, they would prefer listening to sound media while doing something else or while on the go. With today's hectic lifestyle, this is one of the easiest ways to absorb content and learn fast. Hence, if you're planning to publish podcasts in our community, make sure that there is also written content accompanying them for better user experiences.

English Translations for Bilingual Content

The Hive is a global network of people from all walks of life. The number of nationalities that are active on the blockchain is numerous, rapidly increasing, and would soon become unprecedented. To respect our international audience, we gladly accept and welcome all foreign languages published within our community as long as their English language translations are also provided, including all comments and replies on the various content. This would ensure that everyone on the platform would fully understand and socially engage with the different online conversations happening within our thriving ecosystem.

TWITTER ACCOUNT

Connecting with each other is what makes us social as human beings! And because that's a fundamental ingredient for our community's continuous growth, we encourage all our members to explore outside of their own shells and interact with each other. Let's break the ice and collect as many fantastic friendships, connections, and relationships as we possibly can. Isn't that the true essence of why we're here on the Hive blockchain in the first place? However, as we're still a small group, we've intentionally postponed the creation of our Discord community channel and would like to use Twitter instead, in the meantime.

CCC 11.jpg

There are plenty of Hive content creators who currently live on Twitter, and the figures are growing every single day. So, why not benefit from one of the largest social media networks on the planet, right?

If you have any concerns, questions, or would like to be in touch with us in private, we would be more than happy to converse with you and attend to your community needs. Here are our Twitter accounts:

COMMUNITY ETHICS

We take moral conduct, ethical behavior, and positive values seriously in our Architecture+Design Community! As our tribe consists of people from different beliefs, backgrounds, and cultures, it's our compassionate duty to handle others with care, respect, dignity, and empathy. Especially nowadays, where it's much easier for individuals to freely express their personal opinions as opposed to some decades ago, the Internet has also become the tragic graveyard where one's valuable reputation could meet its sudden death! We don't want that to happen in our community, do we?

CCC 12.jpg

Thus, for a peaceful, harmonious, and smooth-sailing social environment, let's do our very best in observing and implementing the following legal conditions:

Professional Practice

Anyone with a Hive username and account can publish their architecture and design content in Architecture+Design Community. There are no special requirements or prerequisites needed to be part of our friendly tribe. Regardless of your profession, occupation, or status, whether you're an architect, designer, engineer, artist, educator, student, entrepreneur, housewife, etc., we're fully open to basically anyone who's interested to join in the fun!

However, this is absolutely what we do not tolerate here. We highly discourage people from pretending to be someone they're not! Let's illustrate an applicable scenario. If you're a Civil Engineer and are personally practicing professional duties, roles, and responsibilities that are supposed to be legally performed by an Architect, this is absolutely unacceptable in our community. The same applies to the other industries, disciplines, and fields of study as well. Let's, therefore, respect each other's professions, trades, and occupations as we further progress on the Hive.

Cyber Bullying

While it's simply not easy to please every single person in our community, we simply do not need to. Even if we wanted to at the start, it would merely be a waste of time and would result in utter failure, burnout, and frustration. In fact, we could not possibly please everyone. Moreover, the intimidation, aggression, and harassment of other people would only cause trouble, destroy relationships, as well as disturb the peace - certainly a far cry from what we really wanted to pursue here. So, let's bring out the best in our community by spreading the love to all concerned while we still can.

Copyright Infringement

We invite all our community members to highly respect the intellectual properties of fellow authors, writers, bloggers, content creators, storytellers, artists, and others who invested their time, talent, and treasure in crafting their original content. Unless we have their willing permission, we do not possess the right and freedom to copy their creative works. Plagiarism and the violation of copyright laws have legal implications and may be escalated to court. Hence, let's stick to originality as much as possible because that's the perfect essence of exercising our genuine creativity.

ORIGINAL CONTENT DECENTRALIZED (OCD) SUPPORT

Our emerging community may be small today however, we've been experiencing steady growth since Day One. Our list of subscribers, patrons, and members has been moving upwards, clearly indicating that the fields of architecture and design are healthy, thriving, and sustainable for the coming generations.

CCC 13.jpg

Above all, we could not have accomplished what we are today without the powerful support of @acidyo and the OCD team! Because of their valuable initiatives such as their remarkable Onboarding Systems, Community Incubation Programs, Community Boosts Contests, plus other worthy endeavors, we couldn't be more grateful for their significantly tremendous contributions to the Hive blockchain. It's our fervent hope that whatever we're focusing our efforts on nowadays would be fruitful and would help in transforming our planet into a much better world for us to enjoy fulfilling lives.

RESUME OF COMMUNITY CREATOR

His name is ERNE. On the Hive blockchain, he is the human behind the account @storiesoferne. He is a licensed and private-practicing Architect in his homeland: the Philippines. And while his exposure to architecture and design commenced during his childhood years (many thanks to his late father who was also an Architect), he continues to be passionate about these interesting disciplines until today. Over the decades, he has professionally collaborated with various architectural firms in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, including his native country.

CCC 14.jpg

To nourish his hunger for wanderlust, curiosity, and discovery, he is also an adventurous traveler who truly enjoys exploring new experiences around the world. Aside from his daily pursuits about architecture and design, he gladly continues to serve humanity with entrepreneurship, personal mentoring, digital media production, and creative writing.

CONCLUDING REMARKS

Consider this post, not as a book of rules, but as a letter of love. As one family, we continuously strive to provide you with a dedicated channel on the Hive where you can thrive together with your architecture and design content, a special location that's close to your heart, and most especially, a warm, comfortable, and fun place you can call home.

CCC 15.jpg

We've probably mentioned everything we've intended to say here. However, if you think we've overlooked some important points, please feel free to write down your ideas and offer your thoughts in the comments section. We'd be more than happy to address your concerns in the Architecture+Design Community for the best experience and ultimate benefit of everyone!

Long live the #Hive!
