THE CONCEPT OF TRUTH AND A MISCONTRUTION OF OBTAINABLE REALITY

Going through the social media just yesterday, a particular tweet got my attention and i couldn't shake of this weird feeling, i wanted to read more, i wanted to know more. i was intrigued by the barrage of comments that trolled the post some negative and some positive but what's more shocking is the content in itself.

@montycashmusic noted in his article titled Are humans dependent on conflict?

I have come to the realisation of truth. I have seen enough behaviour in many different forms while in a state of controlled observation to arrive at decided conclusions on things. Conclusions that are repeatable and that stick and that are often not what the average Joe considers to be 'reality'.

Apparently, the world has so much turned upside down that the concept of relationships, marriage, trust and truth is gradually eroding or should i say has been lost to time because what we see today is only a glimmer of what once existed.

The tweet was a combination of tweets by anonymous people who wanted to share their sexcapades and what intrigued me was that they were all lying to their spouses even as they engaged in such demeaning acts but still found a way to exonerate themselves. Now this brings me to the question, of what essence is it when truth has become a forbidden fruit in relationships.
when i talk about relationships, i ain't just talking about spousal relationships, but i am talking about all kinds of relationship, whether by marriage, by blood, by relation, by friendship, by commitment or by connection.

Let me give a breakdown on the concept truth. The English dictionary defined truth as

that which is true or in accordance with fact or reality
This simply means for something to be considered as a truth it has to be factual and in accordance to reality. there is no truth without verifiable facts and backed up reality. and oftentimes practicing the religion of speaking the truth always earns us the trust. Trust is a resultant effect of truth and without truth trust wouldn't exist.

In as much truth is factual and a reality, it can oftentimes be misconstrued and adulterated to the perspective of the teller. Have you ever wondered why relationships in the 21st century no longer last as they should, even the institution of marriage has failed woefully, together forever and forever after is now forever never after and there is little or no happy ending nor is there a silver lining.
The world has transcended from what it was to what it is because humans no longer value the concept of truth but instead our ideologies and action and reactions are fueled and controlled by our selfishness in the guise of survival instincts. the realities of today is so appalling that married individuals derive so much joy from lying to their spouse, and cheating because our moral compasses has been destroyed beyond repair.
This is so much worse to the extent that saying the truth all the time is seen as been boring, old fashioned or seen as a wimp but the truth should be what drives us as humans.

We got to this level because of the constant quest and inquisition into the knowledge of all things. we keep on evolving as humans in our quest to know the ultimate truth about the whole existence of the world, universe and the galaxies. in our search for light we continue to go deeper into the darkness and here we are today, corrupted by the very knowledge we try to seek.

make no mistake, oftentimes we know this truth, we are conscious of the truth but we decide not to tell it as it is not convenient for us. we delve deeper into a whole chocolate candy of lies just to cover up an act when the truth would have sufficed.
I am an advocate for speaking the truth always but then sometime we are stuck in a quagmire of whether to speak the truth or tell a lie or remain silent oftentimes because of the expected reaction on the third party or the ripple effect of letting the cat out of the bag.

I have realized as well that we oftentimes know the truth but don't want to hear it because the truth in most cases aren't pleasant and hard to digest but lies are easier and soothing to our ears. As we go about our daily activities of relating with people let's advocate to tell the truth most of the time if not all the time.
