This week's battle challenge is about the one of the most competent doctor in whole splinterlands, SCALE DOCTOR. SCALE DOCTOR is an legendary untamed dragon monster. This guy has inherently weak ranged attack, but it is loaded with awesome abilities (Strengthen, Triage, Rust and Repair), that can turn the tide of the battle.

I own only level-1 monster so for this battle challenge I rented level-3 SCALE DOCTOR. The Real fun of SCALE DOCTOR begins at level-2 with Triage ability. After level-2 higher the level the better it is.

Currently there are 1,285 normal foil SCALE DOCTORs in circulation, costing 1.60$/BCX. Gold Foil SCALE DOCTORs are far less abundant with only 64 in supply and costs 50$/BCX.

`Favored Battle Rules`

SCALE DOCTOR can be used effectively in all battle rules. But in certain battle rules it's efficacy reduces e.g. Healed Out, Back to Basics and Unprotected.

`Placement`

SCALE DOCTOR, like all ranged monsters is suited in middle back ranks.

`How to Use`

SCALE DOCTOR can influence battle right from the very beginning. It can be complemented in various ways using summoners or other monsters.

Increasing the ranged attack using summoners like ARCHMAGE ARIUS or SELENIA SKY. Giving it Shield using DRAKE OF ARNAK summoner is also a nice play.

Shield from Protect ability monsters can provide extra protection to SCALE DOCTOR.

SCALE DOCTOR have low speed by default, so speed related attributes like Slow, Swiftness and Blind are always welcome.

`Defense`

Since SCALE DOCTOR has low speed so it can be an easy pray to all Snipe ability(ranged & magic) and opportunity monsters.

`MY LINEUP`

`DARIA DRAGONGLASS`

Since this was 48 mana battle so I choose to go with Dragon splinter. Because I wanted to go with Melee attack to I used DARIA DRAGONSCALE.

`CHAIN GOLEM`

Up front I placed my tank, CHAIN GOLEM. CG offer perfect defense against all type of attacks, with having a decent melee attack.

`CORRUPTED PEGASUS`

On one down position, I placed the healer, CORRUPTED PEGASUS. CORRUPTED PEGASUS is the only monster in death splinter with Tank Heal ability and it also have a decent ranged attack. A perfect one down monster, if you ask me.

`DRAGON JUMPER`

Next, I placed another awesome legendary, DRAGON JUMPER. Strong Opportunity attack can come in pretty handy.

`SCALE DOCTOR`

Then came the star of our show, SCALE DOCTOR. Triage and Repair abilities are the real perks, SCALE DOCTOR can offer. Strengthen, and Rust are the additional benefits.

`PHANTOM SOLDIER`

On the very second last I placed PHANTOM SOLDIER. Decent magic attack with great health having Silence and Void abilities, what's not to like. It can serve the purpose of keeping enemy magic attack in check.

`DARK HA'ON`

On the very last I placed yet another legendary, DARK HA'ON. The real purpose behind using DARK HA'ON was it's Taunt ability. It can attract enemy attraction long enough, allowing rest of the team to attack freely.

`BATTLE ANALYSIS`

The battle went as planned. DARK HA'ON diverted enemy attention allowing the rest of my team battle without trouble. SCALE DOCTOR kept healing the DARK HA'ON as intended. The enemy stood no chance. It was fun watching enemy futile effort to take down healing DARK HA'ON.
