NEPOTISM, FAVORITISM AND GODFATHERISM ARE SOME OF THE CANKERWORM EATING UP OUR ECONOMY AND NOONE SEEMS TO BE TALKING ABOUT THEM

Good morning and welcome to my blog at this hour. In our world today incompetent and unqualified persons have been appointed, or employed into positions in companies or government agencies due to what we call godfatherism or connections. However, these people fail woefully in these positions because of lack of character and the right qualifications. Well, sit back, relax and enjoy all that I have packaged for your reading pleasure.

We complain about the depletable state of our economy and country as a whole but we fail to pay attention to the basics and fundamental issues that should be addressed. We fail to understand that the issues that we experience as a company, organization, team, state or country did not just start from nowhere. It is mostly caused by our favoritism, nepotism and godfatherism in appointing our staffs, executives and leaders.

Most companies, government agencies and parastastals conduct job interviews with hundreds of applicants in attendance but it is all but a formality. Most of them already know who they are going to employ but they have to go through the due process so that the public wouldn't frown against their recruitment process. There are people who have been allocated slots, some one, some two, some three or more - it depends on how influential you are in the company or the society

How do we intend to grow as a company, or country with this kind of system?

I once worked in a company where a lady was sharing with us (some group of her friends) after about two months that she got employed that she didn't apply for job nor undergo any interview process to get the job. She said her appointment letter was delivered to her house by the HR manager of the company. She further said that her father is a good friend of the owner of the company and that was why she got the job on a platter of gold. Well, she didn't last in the job due to her incompetence - she knows little or nothing about her role. Hence, she was dismissed because she was already becoming a liability for the company. BAD MARKET!

This is also applicable to some government positions where civil engineers are heading positions in food and health agencies, medical professionals heading positions in department of work and housing. How do these people perform effectively when they are not working in their field?

These issues needs to be addressed in order to ensure that we keep progressing in every sphere of our lives as as a society and as a country.
