Just the other day i was complaining bitterly about the damage done to my green veggies by the pests and some unkown insects, i tried to find a lasting solution, the use of chemicals for me is not ideal, so sought for an indigenous/traditional solutions, which does work fine. I remember my grandparent does use something like this, and i also seek some help me from a friend @femcy-willy who offer some tips also based on his personal experience as well,

  • One of the indigenous ways of killing off veggies pests and insects is the use of neem leafs.

  • Its important to be careful while treating vegetables not to use some chemicals which might be harmful to the body or ones health.
Infact, as for me while growing any green leaf veggies, i dont apply any form of fertilisers, i always love to have it grow natural without the help of any chemicals which might later harm the body, so also when am treating any diseases or insects attacks, i look for more safer ways to go about it without no harms.

So in this post I'm going to explain how to use neem leaf as a repellent against any form of pests or insects attacks on green vegetables.

There is no doubt most vegetable leafs are edible and succulent and as such they are prone to diferent attacks from weevils, aphids or other insects. So how can one treat affected vegetables using neem leaf and also guide against further attacks.

From the neem tree, we only need its leaf.
What do we do to its leaf?

Once i get the neem leafs, i packed in a container and soaked for in water for few days, atleast two days.
By this time there will be some unpleasant odours coming out, so make sure you are covering your nose when you want to go back there.
Neem is known to be a medicinal plant and is being used in some traditional medicines.

Soaking the neem leaf in water for atleast two days

Then after two days, i went there to further squeeze the leaf to extract all its juice

  • The neem leaf water is what we need, so the water is collected in a container and then sprayed on the vegetables.

Thats it, thats all, no too much stress, everything you'd need, you can easily get it and your gardens will be safe from pests and insects attacks. You can repeat this process at an interval, weekly or monthly.
