We visited Rufford Abbey Country Park, which is set in Nottinghamshire, UK. There's plenty of walks in the grounds, whatever your ability. Sometimes, the place reminds me of one of John Constable's paintings.
It was a mixed bag weather wise, a bit of rain, a bit of sun. I think we are all ready to have more sun now as the dull days are getting a bit boring now.
One of the things I like about the country park is their Wilderness Woodland. It has been around since 1725 and now is a wildlife sanctuary to foxes, squirrels, and woodland birds and a bit of bushcraft thrown in. Source
As we walked around the lake
we spotted a pochard with its lovely red eyes!
The chaffinch was helping itself to the suet pellets that we had placed on the bench.
As Easter approaches, there was an Easter Egg Hunt along the walking trails for children.
There's also a cafe if you want a coffee or a snack with food locally sourced. The dog came free! It's the perfect place to walk, feed the birds, and enjoy good food and a few shops thrown in as well. A nice place to visit whatever your age.
