Weekly Review: 11th Oct 2020 - Good Days and Bad Days

Since I quit Drinking in Feb 2019, I have been taking several steps to gradually move towards a happier and ultimately more fulfilling life. It’s a slow process, but I have learned that having accountability is important for me to change. It is in that spirit of accountability that I am writing this review. It forces me to analyse what has actually happened in the past week, what the results were, and then I can decided the next step to take.

This post is probably more for my benefit than it is yours, but who knows, you might find it interesting

Health
I had been feeling a bit 'meh' in my last 'Review'. And if I am truly honest I feel worse now. Running has gone out of the window. I have stopped tracking what I eat, and while I haven't pigged out on anything, I know my diet has gone to shit.

I don't know why I bother some days. Not just with exercise, but with anything. There is a distinct lack of interest in doing anything. The only reason I go to work because I know that the lack of money that would come with no job would make my situation worse.

This negativity has always been a part of me, along with the corresponding low self-esteem and self-worth. I usually have a better handle on it than this, but lately I can't even be bothered to hide it anymore.

Mental Heath is the 'in thing' these days. And that can only be a good thing, as more and more people talk about how they truly feel. And knowing that other people are struggling as well is helpful to a degree, as I know I am not alone. But it doesn't make me feel any better about it, if that makes sense?

Work

I keep plodding on with work. I still don't have enough hours, and I can't see that improving any time soon. Christmas is on the horizon, and that generally means 'overtime' so I'll keep my fingers crossed. We have a new manager now (the previous one was sacked for as yet unknown reasons) and she seems nice enough so far...

Other than that there isn't a great deal to report. I'm still trying to work on other ways of earning money. I managed to earn £12.99 via my redbubble account in the month of September... which doesn't sound like much, and well, it isn't much. But there was no work involved in that. The designs were already uploaded back in June, I just leave it running in the background.

Hive
Hive growth has still been pretty good. I powered up again for the PUD: Power Up Day on the 1st October which you can see in the middle of the graph, taking me from 2450HP to 2720HP.

The price of HIVE is still low, so I made the most of it by buying some more, and along with some decent author rewards I am now at 3200HP. The slow down in posting is obvious by looking at the right hand graph. I have been lacking motivation in lots of areas (not just HIVE) but I don't want to post stuff just for the sake of it. I'd rather post good content sparingly rather than posting rubbish.

Its probably worth revisiting my schedule and thinking up new things to talk about. As the year progresses, it is harder to talk about my fave topic (moths and other insects) so I need to see what else there is. The Fungi Lovers Community has been a great subject recently, and I have a couple of posts lined up for that one.

On that note I'm gonna wrap this up. I'll jot down a few targets, and then I'm gonna go to bed.

Tomorrow is a new day...

Targets for the coming week:
Health: Reset the 'fuck-it' button and get back into a more regular routine
Work: Get my head down and focus on the job in hand
Hive: Keep consistently posting and interacting with other users

Motivation quote

Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, “I will try again tomorrow". – Mary Anne Radmacher
