Christmas is a festival I do look forward to because of the good memories that come with it. It's my family tradition that every Christmas period, we travel down to my hometown to celebrate with my grandparents. Christmas is always fun because of the food and the joy of getting to see more family members that you haven't seen throughout the year. It is a season that is very much celebrated in my family because of the get-together.
One of the things that makes Christmas fun is the church service at the local church, being that I'm used to another denomination and its way of worship, the village-style of worship always amuses me. The church service in the village always takes longer than I'm used to, but there is always enough time to dance and do several Thanksgiving. My family always has a Thanksgiving in church every Christmas and everyone present dances out to celebrate God's goodness in their lives and the family.
Another thing that makes Christmas fun is food, yes I'm a foodie, I love good food. During Christmas, there is always more than enough to eat. Different delicacies are being prepared and this time you are free to eat whichever you like, oh yeah!. This is the best part of Christmas for me, a time when I can eat as many times as I want. I have an aunt who is from the Igbo tribe, Christmas time is the only time I have to see her cook her indigenous soups, and it's always delicious.
Family is another thing that makes Christmas fun, the coming together of everyone is the best feeling ever. Getting to see everyone again is a feeling that can not be quantified, family is everything, and the strong bond between family cannot be measured with words. My grandparents are always happy any Christmas we all visit because it's a thing of joy for them to see their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
All these factors make Christmas memories long-lasting and fun because it's come with good vibes. Another Christmas is around the corner and I'm already anticipating how it will be this year. The new food to taste this year will be awesome.
