Stress is inevitable, as are my coping mechanisms.

Hello, everyone.

I welcome you to my blog. Stress has turned out to be a part of our everyday lives; there is no day that passes that we don't go about stressing ourselves. Stress can be physical, mental, or even emotional; whatever feeds on your energy and strength can be called stress. Stress is inevitable, and as long as you want to put food on your table and cater for your needs and those of your loved ones, you must go about stressing yourself.

Whatever drains one's energy can also be classified as stress. Stress drains the energy and leaves one feeling very weak, which makes it very important that whatever method we adopt to help us cope with stress be a method that helps replenish lost energy as well as help the body to rejuvenate.

There are a lot of things that cause one to feel stressed. They can be studies, financial problems, the pressures of life, or even going about our day-to-day activities. All these show that it is impossible for us to do away with stress; it has come to stay, so the only option we have is to come up with methods and ways to help us cope with the stress life sends our way.

Currently, the major thing that causes me to stress so much is studying and going to classes every day. Most times, I leave the house by 8 a.m and only get to go back home by 5 p.m It is disheartening to see that our school schedules in Africa are fixed in such a way that you have little or no time for yourself and other extracurricular activities. Sometimes we even have fixed classes on weekends, and it is a must to attend as our lecturers look for every way possible to deduct a mark from the little you have.

You can decide to miss class for a day, and the next day you hear that a series of tests and practicals were conducted on the very day you just decided to skip school. Now you are lagging behind and have to work extra in order to meet up. To avoid lagging behind, just make yourself available all the time and not miss a thing, as missing a day or two in school will only add to the stress.

My coping mechanisms.

Since stress is inevitable, we all adopted ways that help us cope. My way or method of coping with stress can be different from yours, but all that matters is that it helps me cope and replenish lost energy.

  • Take a break whenever you feel stressed out; don't force it.

  • A good sleep, no doubt, sleep is vital for the human body as it helps the body to rejuvenate and prepare it for the stress that comes later.

  • healthy diet can help one cope with stress too. When body nutrients are replaced, the level of stress the body tends to suffer reduces.

  • Take a walk every day; it helps to ease stress, especially if you go on this walk with a friend or family. It helps to clear the head and take the mind off all forms of worry.

Thanks for reading my post.
