MY FAVORITE CHRISTMAS MEMORIES

source

welcome to #24 of this weekly contest organized by this honorable community. My profound gratitude goes to the entire crew responsible for this episode.
Looking at the subject at hand, my favorite Christmas memories are so refreshing to me. Memories entail a flashback, a store history, of an event after a period of time.
I will share with you briefly what stood out for me over the years as far as Christmas celebration is concerned.

The journey to Christmas begins in January before the main day in December. I could recall vividly how my parents normally engage themselves in ensuring that all their children are properly prepared for Christmas. One of the things my mother does is to join forces with other of her colleagues at the workplace and contribute money for the purchase of a cow. This begins in January in order to reduce the load and the demands that are associated with the season. The payment for the meat is done bit by bit till the twelfth month when the cow is bought and slaughtered.
Meat is a key player and game-changer when it comes to Christmas.
Most of the fries are done on the eve of Christmas day when I normally help out in cutting the meat into pieces.
There was this day I ate plenty of meat that finally resulted in an uncontrollable purging that landed me in the clinic. Hmmm, I regretted eating such a thing.

One of the memories I can remember is the way I strolled out with my friends. we can visit everyone in my community. There are lots of friends that one missed and has not seen the season makes it possible. That year, I enjoyed the company of my friends by going to some recreational centers to have fun with chilled drinks. There was a time i returned home very late that made my parents to be disturbed.

The last thing i want to share is the quantity of rice i consumed. Christmas is not made for just eating and drinking alone but to share love of christ to everyone. One of my elder brothers went out with his friends and the food was rice and stew. He removed the lum of rice that was covered by stew thinking it was good meat but unfortunately, it wasn't but purely a lum of rice.
