Description from Strava:
If it is Saturday then it must be parkrun. It really is great having a free weekly event that motivates people to get out. The fact that it is a short jog from home helps in my case. It was looking nice out as I set off and I met up with the usual crowd at the start.

Shortly after we set off it started to rain, but it was not too bad. It really rained hard yesterday, so the course was a little soft, but only really muddy in a couple of places. I thought I was doing okay as I was ahead of a couple of people I normally try to keep up with, but one chap passed me after a lap and I could not catch him. Then one of the ladies passed me near the end. Not that this is such a big deal as we each have our good and bad days. I was a little slower than last week.

Some of us met up in the cafe afterwards for a chat. It seems a lot of parkrunners are 50+ and some are in their 70s, but they may be running better than most younger people. I will be happy if I can still to this as I get older.

The two dogs were waiting patiently whilst their owner was in the shop.

I walked home with one of the ladies, but as the rain came down again we jogged to keep warm and get back quicker. My warm shower was very welcome.

I hope to run tomorrow, but I will see how the weather looks. I would really like to use our pool, but it has not really been warm enough. June is not really feeling like summer. I also have gardening to do.

Run free!
