A hot afternoon. A short run. Job done ✅

It was my third bout of exercise for the day. Not that you could tell from looking at my Garmin stats

Since I'm not in the habit of tracking my heart rate or time spent cleaning (when the mood strikes me) you'd never know I was scrubbing tiles and walls today to remove marks and grime.

Well, now you do.

With a bunch of screen time today, as is usual for most of my normal work days, I was itching to move my body some more before it had even hot 1pm.

As soon as my lunch had gone down sufficiently, and before the Mister got home, I turned on some Ed Sheeran and do my favourite set of exercises in the lounge room.

In the 31'C heat, I did a made up combination of yoga moves, body weight exercises and specific strengthening moves.

No, I don't know the names for most of them. All I can tell you is that I usually do my core exercises and push ups well beyond when my mind says, "I'm tired. I've had enough." I call it mental training: an extremely useful skill for life. I also aim to target all the major muscle groups.

One day I'll bother to let an expert tell me if I'm missing anything. Maybe.

After another screen session and a chat with my Mum (who obligingly played the "good listener" role) it was almost time for even-more-sweaty workout number three.

This one I actually caught (part of) on my watch.

As my Garmin collected nothing more than my steps, we walked from home to meet some others from one of the run clubs.

Hellos were said. Introductions were made. A group photo was taken.

Then we ran, right up a hill, in the sun. I was glad I chose to wear only a sports bra on top; we were cooking.

Then onto the single track we went, a little conga line of trail runners, chatting away, watching where we put each and every foot.

After 20 minutes of running it was time to peel off and take our exit for home. His legs were tired from everything else he'd already done today. My heart was happy to have run and also to stop.

We strolled home. He photographed a dandelion.

I dreamed of sculling cold water and dripping into the pool. I did both.

And now? Now it's time to do as we do most nights: watch something on YouTube about running.

This is Day 15 of 30 days in this Hive Blog Posting Month. Are you playing along too? If you are, drop your latest post in a comment below; I want to see what you're up to.

Thank you Garmin Connect for the screenshot of my stats. Thank you @new.things for the rest of the photos of us and the other pretty weed 😉
