Overcoming The Fear Of The Unknown

One of the major things that keep people from taking steps is fear and the major part of it is the fear that arises from not being sure of what the outcome of the step will be. This has been heavily opposed to taking risks and without taking risks, success may not be achieved. You will be surprised to know that the major part of what people fear are thing that were created by their imagination.

Most times, it is our minds that convince us of our fears and giving heed to them will limit your advancement. You will agree with me that any dream you want to achieve, any idea you want to execute, any new format you want to explore, all of them carry their own potential risks but the risks are nothing compared to their potential results.

Everything about achievements in life can be summarized with these three words: "progression in risks". The bigger the risk you take, the more the success expected. However, with fear in your mind, you willingness to take risks will be limited. The only way to put the fear at bay is by going ahead to do that same thing that you have been scared of doing.

There is no motivation as strong as taking that scary step and discovering that the fears have been non-existent the whole time. It will make you to take other scary steps, knowing that you will still breakthrough like the first time. No wonder it has been said that "the more you keep taking scary steps, the more you live about your fears".

Your fears tend to grow bigger when you feed it by not taking risks, but it will diminish when you lay less emphasis on them and act towards your dreams. The truth is, even if you take the step and things do not turn out too good, you are still better than someone that has not taken any step due to fear. At least, you have not just gathered some experiences that will assist you in your next trial but you have also gone a step further to knowing what to do and not to do in your next attempt.

Believe me, it is far better to attempt that risk and fail at it than to allow fear to keep you on the same spot without making any move. Some of the successful people we know today have similar experience of failing at a point but it still formed part of their success story because they ignored their fears and tried again. If they had refused to try because of fear of the unknown or fear of failure, they would not have succeeded.

When humans are born, the fears inherent in them are very tiny and limited but over time, through interaction and other factors, they pick up other fears. This also means that, if these other fears are learnt, then you can be overcome it.
