Lesson’s From My Aunt’s Business.

My Aunt started a business at a young age and in that business she put in everything she earned from her monthly government salary, she is married to a good man who had the financial capacity to take care of the both of them and this means the salary she earned from government work was not even necessary for running the home, she made it a decision to put every penny made into her business without taking anything for herself.

She employed someone to help her run the affairs of the business while she on the other hand focused on her job, working tirelessly at the office and putting in everything she made into the business, when it was almost time for her retirement, the woman she employed dropped her resignation letter and since she was going to retire soon, she did not even flinch about it as she was going to have time for her business eventually (She thought), but she meet something different when she finally got time away from work and dedicate time to her business.

The woman she had entrusted her business with had gone away with the money she had laboured for while working with the government for years, news came to us that the woman resigned after she completely built her own house from my Aunts business. My Aunt sold the remains of the business and went back home but she always advice people against having their own business, she believes that anyone employed will basically milk the business dry while the owner of the business will be left with nothing.

Even if I have made my own mistakes too I also know that my Aunt is not right about her conclusion, the fact that something like that happened to her does not mean anyone who ventures into the business world will fail. On a normal note, I should follow whatever my Aunt tells me but I have decided to take a different approach to handling my own business.

Thinking Differently from My Aunt’s Approach.

Firstly, I have decided to gain more knowledge through books, the physical example is not one I would love to listen to because it certainly is not healthy for my business , books will provide better insight and understanding about the business wold and whatsoever we plan to know.

I have also gained the understanding of only working with people who have a similar goals and vision with me, we should not employ people based on their appearance or religious beliefs.
Like I have mentioned here before, do not neglect your business at an early stage and while you monitor your business, focus on growth and innovation.

Thanks for reading, I am @oluwatobiloba.
